About the Role:Under the direction of the Director of Sales, the
Global Key Account Manager-Automation is responsible for developing and managing sales opportunities for automation, controls, and engineering solutions. This role focuses on driving new business and supporting strategic accounts across material handling, e-commerce, logistics, and systems integrator markets.
As a key sales partner, this position works closely with customers to understand project needs and deliver tailored solutions. The role collaborates with internal teams to develop competitive proposals and serves as the primary point of contact throughout the sales lifecycle to ensure strong communication and customer satisfaction. *This role requires up to 50% travel- domestically and possible international.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.
- Conduct market research across automation, controls, material handling, e-commerce, and 3PL industries to identify target customers and strategic opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive new business and grow key accounts through prospecting, networking, referrals, trade shows, and partner relationships.
- Manage and expand strategic accounts by building strong relationships and maintaining a deep understanding of customer operations, pipelines, and long-term needs.
- Collaborate with internal engineering, estimating, pre-sales, procurement, and project teams to define scope, develop solutions, and deliver accurate, competitive proposals.
- Lead customer communications throughout the sales process, including presentations, proposals, RFQs, timelines, scope details, and project milestones.
- Maintain accurate CRM data, manage an active sales pipeline, and provide reliable forecasts, opportunity updates, and account plans.
- Contribute to the growth of the Automation Division through sales collateral, market strategy, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the company professionally in all customer, partner, and industry interactions.

Education and/or Experience- 5+ years industry experience in automation
- Sales and Marketing B2B experience, preferred
- Bachelors' degree in Engineering, Business, or related field required

- Demonstrated success with strategic selling process including understanding of customer segmentation and focus
- Experience with electrical and controls engineering products and/or material handling, general contracting and 3PL industries preferred

- Ability to prioritize, complete tasks with a high level of accuracy, and be attentive to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
