Job Title: Global HR Compliance Specialist          

Locations: Jacksonville, FL or Kansas City, MO (hybrid work schedule)

About the Role

The Global HR Compliance Specialist, reporting to the Director of Global HR Compliance & Employee Relations, supports the development and execution of SS&C’s global HR compliance strategy, with responsibility for helping ensure alignment with employment laws and regulatory requirements across multiple countries and regions.

This role will partner with regional HR teams and HR Centers of Excellence to monitor evolving employment requirements, assess organizational impact, identify compliance risks, and support consistent and legally compliant HR policies, processes and practices across the employee lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings direct global HR compliance experience combined with strong analytical and technology capabilities. This individual must be able to independently research and assess complex requirements across jurisdictions, synthesize regulatory and operational information, identify potential risk, translate findings into clear recommendations, and drive work through implementation and follow-up. Success in this role requires strong ownership, attention to detail, sound judgment, a sense of urgency, and a continuous improvement mindset.

How You Will Make an Impact 

  • Monitor and assess evolving employment laws and regulatory requirements across applicable global, country, federal, state, provincial and local jurisdictions; evaluate organizational impact and translate changes into clear recommendations for HR policies, processes, systems, training and operating practices. Monitor compliance requirements, identify emerging trends and partner with appropriate stakeholders and Legal to determine when policies, practices, training or processes require modification.

  • Partner with regional HR teams and HR Centers of Excellence, including Talent Acquisition, Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, Leave and Absence, Learning, HR Operations and HRIS, to identify jurisdiction-specific compliance requirements, assess risk and support legally compliant and consistent HR practices across regions.

  • Support global HR compliance strategy and governance by identifying regulatory developments, assessing cross-border and regional impacts, and helping determine where policies, processes, controls or practices require modification.

  • Conduct periodic HR compliance audits and risk assessments, identify gaps or emerging areas of concern, and develop actionable recommendations and remediation plans to strengthen compliance and reduce organizational risk.

  • Manage and enhance global HR compliance and employee relations reporting, dashboards and metrics. Analyze trends, synthesize complex data and information, identify meaningful patterns and translate findings into actionable insights and recommendations for HR leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Maintain compliance documentation, governance frameworks, controls and reporting that support internal and external audit requirements and provide visibility into compliance status, risks and corrective actions.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline and automate recurring HR compliance, reporting, investigation tracking and data-management processes. Partner with HRIS, Technology and analytics teams to implement scalable digital solutions and improve operational efficiency.

  • Support the development, review and implementation of global and regional HR policies, procedures and required employment-related training.

Required Experience

  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of related experience or Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related experience.

  • Demonstrated experience supporting HR compliance across multiple countries or regions within a global or multinational organization.

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state employment compliance requirements, combined with experience researching and applying employment requirements across additional international jurisdictions.

  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate differences in employment requirements across countries or regions and translate regulatory obligations into practical HR policies, processes, controls and business guidance.

  • Demonstrated analytical capability, including the ability to gather information from multiple sources, analyze and synthesize complex data and regulatory information, identify risk and trends, and develop clear, actionable recommendations.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience working with data sets, formulas, lookup functions, pivot tables, and reporting. Strong proficiency across Microsoft Office applications is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize and manage multiple initiatives, exercise sound judgment, work with a strong sense of urgency, and drive assignments from identification and analysis through recommendation, execution and follow-up.

  • Strong relationship-building, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively partner with global and regional HR leadership, HR Centers of Excellence, business stakeholders and internal or external legal counsel while maintaining strict confidentiality.

What Sets You Apart(preferred qualifications)

  • Experience supporting HR compliance within a large, complex or highly matrixed multinational organization.

  • Knowledge of employment compliance areas impacting the employee lifecycle, including recruiting and hiring practices, background screening and fair-chance requirements, pay transparency, employee relations, leave and accommodation, wage and hour considerations, required workplace training, policy governance and employment documentation.

  • Experience developing and managing HR compliance dashboards, metrics, risk indicators or governance reporting.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including experience using macros to automate recurring tasks, improving reporting efficiency, and support data analysis.

  • Experience leading small to moderately complex cross-functional HR compliance, process improvement or technology initiatives across multiple regions.

  • Experience with Workday or comparable enterprise HRIS platforms.

  • Experience leveraging automation, artificial intelligence or other emerging technologies to improve HR processes, reporting or compliance monitoring.

  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR.
