Full Job Description
Overall Role Purpose

 Defines, implements and executes SD strategy globally

 Manages and drives performance of SD Product team

 Ensures effective end-to-end Capacity Mgmt (incl. optimization of procurement and consolidation) and negotiates key contracts

 Responsible for pricing and internal rates

 Ensures implementation of BD opportunities globally

 Provides input to and leads the implementation of pricing & RFQ/tender management strategy to support the commercial strategy in line with business objectives, corporate guidelines and policies

Key Responsibilities

Customer :

 Represent DHL with strategically important customers to enhance Same Day business opportunities

 Represent DHL in pricing/contract negotiations

 Ensure compliance with programs, procedures, audits, and standards as required

Stakeholder :

 Provide leadership to ensure business objectives are clearly communicated and consistently implemented

 Define and execute business plan to grow and globalize the DHL products and services

 Partner with all DHL business units to develop opportunities for revenue and business growth

 Develop relationships and negotiate cost and service levels with both internal and external vendors

 Contributor of Senior Mgmt Team providing insights, collaboration and innovation

Process :

 Lead, develop and execute all aspects of the business plan, including program management, project management, pricing, strategic planning, accounting, etc.

 Direct and manage all Same Day supplier contracts, terms/conditions and methods of conducting business, maintaining compliance with DPDHL policies and procedures and business practices

 Ensure DHL Same Day/DGF product plan aligns with and complements the DHL Global Forwarding global product suite

 Develop and manage the specific business plan and budget for global Same Da & TMS team, ensuring alignment with the overall DPDHL and DHL Global Forwarding goals and objectives

 Ensure annual business plans are met, including revenue, cash flow, EBITA, service levels and employee opinion satisfaction and that appropriate corrective action is taken to rectify any variance

 Develop global solutions for long term projects with strategic growth accounts in coordination with regional MD's and Network & Quality teams

 Research competitor solutions and create path forward to implement innovative processes thereby implementing continuous improvement and cutting-edge technology

 Maintain good standing and all training with TSA certification

 Responsible for providing costing for air solutions for RFP's and project requests

 Monitor performance of ground and air vendors to meet KPI's and compliance standards

Role Requirements

 Has extensive depth and breadth of expertise and experience in general management and/or functional leadership

 A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of work supervised and practical application to problems and situations ordinarily encountered

 Exposure to varied vertical requirements for expedited transportation ie. LSHC, Aerospace, Automotive, Technology

 Experience in negotiating airfreight and ground transportation rates based upon region, commodity and weight

 Analyzes and resolves complex cross-functional issues

 Typically requires 15+ years related field experience, including 10+ years of industry experience and 5-8 years' experience in a Sr. Transportation/Logistics business management position
