Full Job Description
The Role

We are looking for an experienced Director, People Technology to lead the People Technology function at HelloFresh. This role is accountable for the strategy, operating model, delivery, stability and performance of our global People Technology landscape.

You will own the end-to-end technology environment that enables the People function and supports critical operational execution across the business, with Workday as the core platform. This includes functional development, operations, integrations, programme delivery, AI enablement, and business-critical workforce technology such as Time Tracking, Absence and time clocking devices across our distribution centres.

This role has a clear AI mandate. You will define how People Technology uses AI to improve its own productivity, service quality, delivery speed and decision-making, while also partnering with People leaders to identify, govern and deploy AI-enabled solutions for our People function customers. This includes moving beyond experimentation into responsible, scalable and measurable adoption.

You will partner closely with People, Technology and Operations leaders to translate business needs into a clear, executable technology roadmap. The role requires strong judgement, clear prioritisation and the ability to balance transformation, platform health, operational reliability, business continuity and user experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role at the right altitude. You will lead through senior managers and specialist teams, while staying close enough to complex decisions, risks and trade-offs to ensure high-quality outcomes.
What you'll do
  • Own the People Technology strategy and roadmap, aligned to People, Technology and Operations priorities.
  • Lead the evolution of the People Technology operating model across Operations, Functional Development, Integrations and Programme Management.
  • Ensure Workday and related People Technology platforms are stable, scalable, secure and fit for purpose.
  • Own the technology performance of business-critical workforce processes, including Time Tracking, Absence and time clocking across distribution centres.
  • Partner with Operations stakeholders to ensure workforce technology supports reliable execution in frontline and operational environments.
  • Define and drive the People Technology AI strategy, including internal productivity, automation, service improvement and delivery effectiveness.
  • Partner with People leaders to identify, prioritise and deliver responsible AI-enabled solutions for People function customers.
  • Establish appropriate governance for AI use across People Technology, including risk, data protection, adoption, measurement and change management.
  • Set priorities for major initiatives, balancing delivery ambition, operational risk, capacity and long-term platform health.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex delivery, operational, vendor or system-risk issues.
  • Partner with Technology leadership on architecture, security, integrations, data and platform sustainability.
  • Represent People Technology in senior leadership forums and cross-functional decision-making.
What you'll bring
  • Significant experience in People Technology, HR systems or enterprise SaaS leadership roles.
  • Deep experience with Workday-centric technology landscapes, including implementation, optimisation and operational support.
  • Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary technology teams across operations, delivery, integrations and specialist domains.
  • Strong understanding of operationally critical workforce technology, ideally including time, absence, scheduling or clocking solutions.
  • Experience supporting technology used in frontline, operational or distribution-centre environments.
  • Practical experience identifying and deploying AI or automation opportunities in an enterprise function.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI adoption, including governance, data, risk, change management and measurable business value.
  • Strong judgement in balancing transformation, system stability, governance, operational risk and business continuity.
  • Experience operating in global, complex organisations with senior cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate People, Technology and Operations priorities into clear, executable plans.
  • Comfortable making and owning difficult prioritisation and trade-off decisions.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
What we offer
  • Enjoy a discount on HelloFresh meal kits, delivered straight to your door.
  • Build for the long-term with our company pension scheme (not available for interns/working students).
  • Benefit from discounted memberships with Urban Sports Club and John Reed, yoga classes, and access to Headspace and Spill.
  • Balance your work and life with flexible hours, Work From Home/Abroad options, and a home office setup budget.
  • Receive childcare support (not available for interns/working students).
  • Get a monthly allowance for the Deutschlandticket to support sustainable commuting.
  • Embrace "Learning Never Stops" with access to internal trainings and a central L&D budget (remove for interns).
  • Work from a modern, comfortable office in Berlin-Kreuzberg and enjoy social events like team outings, Friday beers, and company runs.
