The Position
As the Global Data Acquisition Lead, you will be leading all data acquisitions across GTM, while also serving as the catalyst for innovation, with out-of-the-box thinking and external partnerships. This role will lead the global commercial data office (GCDO) responsible for driving the data strategy, assess market landscape, evaluate data vendors and source data assets that drive key business outcomes in support of One Pharma Strategy. You will act as a catalyst to enable the AI data ecosystem to drive key initiatives and global AI data products.
The lead will operate with an enterprise mindset and work closely with Global Procurement (GP), Finance, Roche Digital Technology (RDT) to enable the platforms and solutions; Global Privacy Office (GPO) to drive compliance policies; key data vendors and partners across the globe to drive acquisition and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Run the Global Commercial Data Office to enable all commercial data acquisition across global and 80+ affiliates, governed through a centralized model, in partnership with the procurement and finance teams
Partner with stakeholders across GPS, PI, PD, PDMA, affiliates and Roche other divisions, serving as their data stewards/experts to drive fit-for-purpose data acquisition, training, adoption, monitoring usage/value and decommissioning
Establish data as an enterprise asset by x-functional partnering & serving as the data steward / expert across the enterprise
Lead major data acquisition contracts in partnership with procurement
Work in sync with data governance to enable seamless integration of data purchases in the data catalog.
Collaborate cross-functionally to design, build and operate an enterprise data marketplace, for easy access to information about data assets
Serve as the in-house expert of the existing and evolving data assets in the industry
Work closely with peers and senior leaders in - ecosystem insights, CI, global access, therapeutic area teams; affiliate leadership/data & insights champions; Genentech data office team - to develop and implement a harmonized data acquisition process, data on-boarding, and utilization considerations
Engage with data vendors to evaluate their products and offerings in alignment to our business, drive data contracts and enable cost effective enterprise/above-country data procurement strategy, where possible, to maximize the value of data
Serve as the internal expert for consulting on the existing data sources, along with the pros and cons of the different assets
Organize knowledge sharing sessions, bringing in industry experts and vendor partners with information on trends and best practices
Collaborate with data consumers as the data expert to help deliver actionable insights to the business
Accountable for resource allocation and investments both in the near-term and long-term; work with affiliate leads and finance teams to make resourcing tradeoff decisions
Operate with enterprise mindset, with a strong focus on outcome
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 10+ years’ experience with extensive knowledge of pharma data and technology; or 6+ years with MBA/MS with extensive knowledge of pharma data and technology
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical data domain, both global and especially regional & country level ecosystem.
Knowledge of commercial operations and analytics approaches in biopharma including descriptive and predictive analytics
Understanding of emerging capabilities in natural language processing, unstructured data, etc. and potential application in pharma/health care
Ability to help translate complex data insights into actionable business recommendations
Excellent influencing and networking skills paired with stakeholder management experience in a multi-layered global environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with demonstrated success in facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
Experience with Cloud platforms (like AWS) preferred
Experience in Agile methodology and execution and design thinking
Availability to travel internationally as required
Location:
This position can be based in South San Francisco or Basel and relocation benefits are not available.
The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of South San Francisco, CA is $160,900 - $298,900 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
