Full Job Description
The Role The Glazing Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the successful field installation of large-scale commercial glazing and building-enclosure projects. This individual will lead field crews, coordinate manpower and materials, work closely with Project Managers and General Contractors, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with curtain wall and commercial glazing , particularly on larger or more complex projects. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead commercial glazing crews across active projects. Manage day-to-day field installation activities and coordinate manpower. Oversee installation of unitized and stick-built curtain wall systems. Coordinate installation of window wall, punched openings, storefront and specialty glazing systems. Review and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and project specifications. Coordinate closely with Project Managers, General Contractors and other subcontractors. Plan daily and weekly installation activities to maintain project schedules. Monitor job progress and communicate updates, manpower requirements and field issues to the project team. Identify and resolve field conditions, installation conflicts and material issues. Coordinate deliveries, staging and material handling on jobsites. Conduct quality-control inspections throughout the installation process. Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and manufacturer requirements. Enforce company safety procedures and OSHA requirements. Lead, mentor and develop Foremen, Glaziers and other field personnel. Manage punch-list work and assist with project closeout. Maintain strong relationships with General Contractors and other project stakeholders. Help identify potential schedule, quality and productivity issues before they impact the project. Requirements 5+ years of commercial glazing experience. Previous experience as a Glazing Superintendent, Field Superintendent, General Foreman, Glazing Foreman or similar field leadership position . Strong knowledge of commercial curtain wall installation. Experience with unitized curtain wall is highly preferred . Experience with window wall, punched openings, storefront and/or structural glass. Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, shop drawings and specifications. Proven ability to lead and coordinate multiple glazing crews. Experience working on mid-rise and/or high-rise commercial projects. Strong understanding of construction sequencing and jobsite coordination. Solid knowledge of OSHA and commercial construction safety requirements. Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
