Full Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Manager, Financial Reporting to act as both a technical and operational manager in financial reporting. The position is located at 1, Place Ville Marie.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

Financial Reporting and Close Process
  • Manage the preparation and review of quarterly and annual consolidated financial information
  • Plan the close calendar, team deliverables and responsibilities;
  • Review certain analyses and notes to the consolidated financial statements
  • Ensure quality, accuracy and adherence to disclosure deadlines;
  • Identify and implement automation and optimization initiatives for close and reporting processes

IFRS Technical Expertise
  • Act as the IFRS and disclosure technical reference for complex transactions and issues
  • Analyze new IFRS standards and regulatory changes, then assess their impact on the organization;
  • Analyze and support the accounting treatment of complex transactions (acquisitions, financing, restructurings, etc.)
  • Draft technical memos and accounting position papers on non-routine transactions;
  • Support business units and finance partners on appropriate accounting treatments;
  • Maintain up-to-date accounting policies and financial disclosure guidelines.

Audit and Internal Controls
  • Coordinate audits, quarterly reviews and controls related to financial reporting
  • Act as the team's main point of contact with external auditors for reporting matters;
  • Coordinate the preparation of supporting documentation and follow up on audit requests;
  • Ensure the robustness of internal controls related to the close and disclosure process;

Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, engage and develop a team of three employees made up of financial reporting analysts and/or senior analysts;
  • Assign files based on priorities, competencies and critical deadlines;
  • Ensure recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, talent development and contribute to succession planning;
  • Support team development through mentoring, IFRS knowledge transfer and guidance on complex analyses;
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable environment focused on continuous improvement and execution rigor.


Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, accounting option
  • CPA designation required.

Work experience
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, external audit or consolidation
  • Experience in a public company and in a complex manufacturing environment, a strong asset
  • Experience in supervising or coordinating a professional team
  • Experience in continuous improvement and financial process transformation, an asset, knowledge of automation tools (Power BI, Power Query, etc.), an asset.

Professional competencies
  • Advanced knowledge of IFRS standards and their practical application
  • Strong understanding of disclosure requirements and reporting processes of a public company
  • Ability to draft technical accounting memos and defend positions with various stakeholders
  • Experience in external audit, consolidation, internal controls and process improvement
  • Very strong Excel skills and ease with financial and consolidation systems.
