Responsibilities

  • Perform geotechnical analyses to evaluate geohazards such as seismic activity.
  • Plan and execute geotechnical explorations, including foundation and slope stability designs.
  • Assist in proposal development and cost/schedule assessments for investigations.
  • Direct the technical team during field inspection activities.
  • Collaborate with clients and team members to ensure timely project completion.
  • Support the Program Manager with construction document design and evaluation.
  • Review and approve geotechnical designs from external consultants.

Full Job Description
JOB DUTIES
  • Perform geotechnical analysis and studies to assess potential mitigation options for geohazards including seismic analysis, karst evaluation, etc.
  • Plan and conduct geotechnical explorations. Perform appropriate calculations for the design of foundations, retaining walls, horizontal directional drills, and slope stability.
  • Assist in developing proposals and determine cost and schedule for investigations.
  • Provide direction to technical team in field inspection activities.
  • Interact with customers and team members to complete the assigned project on-time.
  • Assist Program Manager in design and evaluation of construction documents and projects.
  • Develop design drawings and specifications for construction projects.
  • Review and approve geotechnical designs developed by outside consultants.
  • Review construction design proposals and approve geotechnical aspects.
  • Evaluate team performance and determine training needs to meet performance objectives.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • BS in Civil Engineering/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-7 years of relatable experience required.
  • Knowledge and understanding of industry codes and standards.
  • FE required, PE highly preferred.

SKILLS
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important.
  • Time management and organizational skills and the ability to deal effectively with stressful situations.
  • Experience on engineering, procurement, and construction projects desirable.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail important.
  • Proficiency with applicable software applications.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including internal resources and clients.

COMPENSATION: $90K - $120K based on experience
