We're looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic and growing team in our Victoria, BC office. This is a unique opportunity for a motivated professional with 5 to 8 years of consulting experience who thrives in both field and office settings.
In this role, you won't just be running numbers, you'll be at the forefront of diverse, high-impact projects spanning civil infrastructure, land development, and environmental sectors. From planning and executing site investigations to shaping technical designs and reports, your work will directly influence how communities grow and evolve. You'll collaborate with clients, guide junior staff, and be part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values innovation, practical solutions, and professional growth.
Essential Responsibilities & Duties - Conduct and coordinate geotechnical field investigations.
- Analyze field and laboratory data to support design recommendations.
- Prepare geotechnical reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Assist with proposals, budgets, and project scoping.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support senior engineers with technical tasks.
- Oversee work performed by junior engineers and technical staff .
- Visit project sites for inspections, testing, or client meetings.
- Participate in internal team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
- Manage project budgets and deliverables.
- Business development to expand Client base.
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering; Master's degree considered an asset.
- Registered (or eligible for registration) as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
- 5-8 years of geotechnical engineering experience, preferably within a consulting environment in Canada.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Proficient in geotechnical software for design and analysis.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage competing priorities.
- Collaborative mindset with a proactive and solution-driven approach.
- Experience supporting or leading field programs and preparing geotechnical reports.
- Comfortable interacting with clients and regulatory bodies.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
