About the Role

Our projects are diverse and include geotechnical/civil engineering, QA/QC construction monitoring, drill monitoring, geo-environmental monitoring, site investigations, foundation inspections, and soil and concrete lab testing. We work across various industries, from open-pit mining environments to municipal infrastructure projects.

We are currently hiring individuals with a Geoscience background to work on a multitude of differing drilling, mining, heavy civil and municipal projects. We anticipate this position to have a June or July 2026 start date.

Location & Work Environment:

  • Opportunities are primarily based in Fort McMurray.
  • Fieldwork includes 12-hour shifts (day/night) in various project environments.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring Sonic/Mud Rotary/Dual Rotary/Auger drilling rigs.
  • Production and Pitwall Geology roles at client sites.
  • Describing and sampling various geological materials.
  • Participating in geological and geotechnical core description programs.
  • Performing geotechnical testing, reading and installations - Slope Inclinometers (SI), Monitoring wells, Vibrating Wire Piezometers (VWP).
  • Contributing to multi-discipline projects in the areas of geotechnical design for foundations, retaining & shoring systems, mining facilities, slope stabilization and roads.
  • Coordinating with project team members, including geologists, engineers and operations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participating in local and remote fieldwork, with shifts up to 12 hours per day/night.
  • Building, promoting and maintaining client relationships.
  • Soils and concrete QA/QC monitoring on a multitude of differing mining, heavy civil and municipal projects.
  • Conducting field inspections and testing, including soil testing, earthwork, and concrete testing, to ensure compliance with project specifications and engineering standards.
  • Conducting piling monitoring and inspection.
  • Data collection for environmental groundwater monitoring, pump testing, hydraulic conductivity testing, air quality and soil sampling, surface water sampling and other environmental field services.
  • Driving in active mining environments and interacting with heavy equipment.
  • Preparing technical reports, managing project schedules and resources, and meeting deadlines and budgets.


What We Look For

We are seeking individuals with:

  • A degree/diploma in Geology or Earth Science, Geoscience, Geo Environmental or an equivalent combination of education and /or field experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in Canada.
  • A valid driver's license and a driver abstract in good standing.
  • Individuals who can complete physical field work and pass a fitness-for-work test.
  • Individuals that are capable of working in safety-sensitive environments and can meet drug and alcohol testing requirements.
  • Individuals who want to learn, share, and grow themselves and the business.


Additional Assets

  • Experience in a technical field-based role is an asset, as is experience in the geoscience industry.
  • Proficiency in off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditions.
  • BSO/CSO, H2S & CCIL certification.
  • Membership with ASET or APEGA are considered additional advantages.
