The General Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the hotel including the Rooms, Food & Beverage, Administrative, Sales, Marketing, and Maintenance divisions.

This is a defining leadership opportunity within First Hospitality for a Hilton branded lifestyle hotel, located in the Milwaukee Central Business District.

General Managers set the culture of the workplace with an unwavering emphasis on guest satisfaction and associate performance. Tasked with cultivating a best-in-class team, this leader is responsible for hiring, training, and retention, while also driving revenue and profit through direct oversight of the on-property sales and commercial team. In partnership with corporate sales and revenue management leadership, the General Manager drives top-line performance while maintaining disciplined expense control to meet or exceed budget.

Success in this role means leading a highly engaged team, delivering on revenue goals, proactively resolving guest concerns, and creating a dynamic, inclusive environment that reflects both the spirit of the property and the energy of downtown Milwaukee.
What you'll be doing...
  • Proactively address guest concerns by ensuring thoughtful, accessible, and experience-driven amenities and service offerings aligned with the brand vision
  • Effectively manage budgeted revenue by partnering with sales and revenue management to maximize performance
  • Control purchasing to ensure disciplined management of controllable expenses
  • Hire, train, and inspire a high-performing hotel team that delivers elevated, memorable guest experiences
  • Foster a diverse and inclusive environment by building strong relationships across hotel leadership and teams
  • Lead by example, setting the tone for service, culture, and accountability across the property
  • Ensure seamless communication across all departments to support operational excellence
  • Listen actively to guests, respond with empathy, and take decisive action to resolve concerns
  • Maintain professionalism consistent with brand standards while embracing the individuality of the property
  • Lead emergency preparedness and response, ensuring safety for guests and team members
Success factors...
Experience & Education:
  • 5+ years of hotel management experience, preferably within lifestyle or branded environments
  • Experience with sales strategy and revenue management preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience required
  • Valid driver's license
Communication:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong diplomacy and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office
Physical:
  • 8+ hours per day; stand, sit, and walk frequently throughout the workday
  • Lift, lower, push, pull, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally
