General Manager

Location: Coos Bay, OR Yard

Are you a proven leader with a passion for operational excellence, team development, and business growth? We are seeking a dynamic General Manager to oversee all aspects of our location's operations, drive profitability, and create an outstanding customer and employee experience.

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance, profitability, and daily operations of the location. This role provides leadership across sales, production, delivery, purchasing, inventory control, and employee development while ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
  • Direct and oversee all location operations, including sales, production, delivery, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Ensure efficient daily operations while maintaining high standards of customer service and operational excellence.
  • Utilize company systems and reporting tools to monitor performance, identify opportunities, and drive results.
  • Develop and implement inventory management strategies that optimize stock levels and improve inventory turns.

Financial & Business Management
  • Manage location budgets and maintain accountability for financial performance.
  • Establish operational goals, cost controls, and inventory targets to support company objectives.
  • Analyze financial results and implement improvement initiatives that increase profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Recommend capital improvements, facility enhancements, and equipment investments to support business growth.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training efforts to build and maintain a high-performing workforce.
  • Develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
  • Foster a positive, productive work environment that promotes engagement, accountability, and teamwork.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and recognize employee achievements.

Safety & Compliance
  • Promote and support a culture of safety while ensuring compliance with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards.
  • Communicate and enforce company policies, procedures, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Serve as a liaison between employees and leadership to maintain effective communication and a positive workplace culture.

Customer Experience
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Actively gather customer feedback and implement solutions that enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Ensure all departments consistently deliver exceptional service and support.

Qualifications

Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of four years of management experience with increasing leadership responsibilities.
  • Prior experience within the building materials industry.
  • Proven success leading operations, teams, and business performance.
