Lead One of North America's Most Advanced Linerboard Operations

At Cascades, we are looking for a General Manager, Mill Operations, to lead the Greenpac Mill, a world-class linerboard manufacturing operation in Niagara Falls, New York. This is an opportunity for a proven manufacturing executive to take the helm of a highly sophisticated operation, influence strategic business decisions, and lead a team committed to safety, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and environmental stewardship.

Greenpac is more than a paper mill. It is a flagship operation within our organization and a critical supplier to the packaging industry. Equipped with advanced technology and supported by a skilled and dedicated workforce, the mill plays an essential role in delivering high-quality recycled linerboard products to customers across North America.

As General Manager, Mill Operations you will set the vision, establish priorities, and drive results across the entire operation. You will be accountable for the performance of the mill while empowering leaders and teams to achieve exceptional outcomes in safety, reliability, quality, productivity, employee engagement, and financial performance.

The Opportunity

As General Manager, Mill Operations, you will lead the Greenpac Mill's performance, people, and day-to-day operations. You will set clear priorities, align teams around shared goals, and ensure the mill delivers safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Key Areas of Impact

  • Lead all mill operations, including safety, production, maintenance, reliability, environmental compliance, quality, and employee engagement.
  • Champion a safety-first culture where every employee returns home safely.
  • Translate the strategic operating plan into clear priorities and measurable results, working with functional leaders to deliver mill KPIs for safety, efficiency, cost, quality, and compliance.
  • Advance continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, improve productivity, strengthen quality, and control costs.
  • Align production priorities with commercial, planning, and distribution partners to support reliable execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead, coach, and develop leaders and employees, building a high-performing, inclusive team with strong capability for the future.
  • Partner with unit and sector HR leaders to support workforce planning, organizational effectiveness, and alignment with broader business objectives.


What You Bring

You'll be successful in this role if you bring a strong blend of manufacturing leadership, operational discipline, and people-centered management. We're looking for someone with:

  • A bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferred, or equivalent experience in a related technical or manufacturing field.
  • Progressive manufacturing leadership experience, including significant responsibility for plant or mill operations; experience in paper, pulp, packaging, linerboard, or corrugated industries is preferred.
  • Experience applying servant leadership principles to lead large teams in a complex, continuous improvement manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of driving safety, operational excellence, employee engagement, and financial performance.
  • Strong knowledge of paper manufacturing processes, maintenance and reliability practices, and continuous improvement methods such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar approaches.
  • Proven ability to lead organizational change, develop leaders, and build high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and align teams across functions.
