Additional Information: This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, JNS Hospitality. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel's employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Gainesville Hospitality is looking for a qualified hospitality leader to join our team as a General Manager for the newly built TownePlace Suites in Gainesville, VA.

The General Manager will oversee the Team hiring and training as well as insuring that the property is Guest Ready for opening. The General Manager is responsible for managing daily hotel operations in the hotels continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability; responsible for leading, directing and managing all hotel operations including, but not limited to forecasting, strategic planning, leading service initiatives, and leading and managing balanced scorecard performance; oversee service quality, operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and standard compliance. The General Manager will serve as the primary liaison with hotel owners and corporate entities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manages all sources of revenue including the rooms, housekeeping and food & beverage. Ensures all departments are profitable and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Have thorough understanding of revenue management.
  • Must be highly focused on Sales at the hotel on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Sales and Marketing Program. Actively participates in Sales discussions, meetings, plans and Sales calls. Knows key account executives and business base. Provide feedback and work with revenue manager.
  • Ability to identify operational performance, productivity and efficiency gaps and implement measures to correct deficiencies
  • Manage the hotel through a hands-on approach, motivating employees, ensuring employee development and retention and conducting regular employee meetings.
  • Ensure outstanding guest service and the adherence to all brand standards. Inspects property daily and enforces the implementation of actions toward the safety, comfort, and cleanliness of the hotel and guest satisfaction.
  • Thoroughly understand and implement the Brand service culture. Provides a professional image at all times through appearance and dress
  • Protect the hotel and its assets through enforcing and maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
  • Manage hotel expenses and coordinate between accounting and vendors.
  • Adheres to all franchise and company procedures and regulations as well as standard operating procedures.
  • Selects, trains, and directs department managers and supervisors and other Employees as necessary keeping them well versed in all policies and procedures. Holds monthly hotel staff meetings with agenda.
  • Conducts performance appraisal and personal development plans for management staff and takes action for disciplinary measures as needed; responsible for maintaining proper and confidential Human Resources files, i.e., personnel files, medical files, investigative files.
