Full Job Description
As General Manager, you will serve as the strategic and operational leader of the hotel, with responsibility for all aspects of property performance.

You will set the vision, inspire the team, drive accountability, and ensure the hotel consistently delivers on the standards and expectations of Marriott, Crescent Hotels & Resorts, and hotel ownership.

This role requires a visible, hands-on and commercially minded leader who is equally comfortable engaging with associates and guests, reviewing financial performance, partnering with Sales and Revenue Management, developing executive talent, and communicating with ownership.
What You'll Lead

Hotel Strategy & Financial Performance

  • Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for hotel operations, financial performance, guest experience, and associate engagement.
  • Develop and execute the hotel's annual business plan, budget, forecasts, and operating strategies.
  • Analyze financial and operational performance and implement strategies that drive revenue, profitability, market share, and long-term asset value.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of business trends, competitive positioning, and opportunities within the Dulles and Northern Virginia market.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold leaders accountable for delivering measurable results.
  • Maintain strong, transparent, and productive relationships with ownership, Crescent leadership, and Marriott.

Commercial Leadership

  • Partner closely with Sales, Revenue Management, Marketing, and Food & Beverage leadership to develop and execute strategies that maximize hotel performance.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the hotel's business mix, including corporate, group, meetings and events, transient, and leisure segments.
  • Identify opportunities to grow market share, strengthen key account relationships, and maximize revenue across rooms, food and beverage, and meeting space.
  • Stay actively engaged with market conditions, competitive activity, demand generators, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Build relationships with key clients, business partners, community organizations, and regional stakeholders.

Guest Experience & Operational Excellence

  • Create a culture centered on hospitality, accountability, operational discipline, and consistently exceptional service.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence throughout the hotel, regularly engaging with guests, associates, and leaders.
  • Ensure the property consistently meets or exceeds Marriott brand standards and Crescent expectations for quality, cleanliness, service, and operational performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement and identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience, improve efficiencies, and strengthen the hotel's competitive position.
  • Ensure strong execution across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Engineering, Sales, Finance, and all supporting disciplines.

People & Culture

  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a talented executive and departmental leadership team.
  • Create an environment where associates feel valued, supported, challenged, and empowered to perform at their best.
  • Establish clear expectations and accountability while fostering collaboration and communication across departments.
  • Develop leaders at every level and build a strong internal talent pipeline through coaching, development, and succession planning.
  • Partner with People & Culture leadership to support associate relations, performance management, engagement, development, and retention.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Hotel General Manager, preferably within a complex, full-service hotel environment.
  • Demonstrated success leading a full-service hotel with significant rooms, food and beverage, group, and meeting/event operations.
  • Strong track record of delivering financial performance, guest satisfaction, associate engagement, and operational results.
  • Deep understanding of hotel financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, revenue strategy, labor management, and cost controls.
  • Strong commercial mindset with the ability to partner effectively with Sales and Revenue Management to drive topline performance and market share.
  • Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing leadership teams.
  • Strong executive presence with excellent communication, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience effectively partnering with hotel ownership, asset management, brand leadership, and management company executives.
  • Marriott full-service experience highly preferred.
  • Experience within the Northern Virginia, Washington D.C., airport, corporate, or convention/group hotel markets is highly desirable.
