Upon successful completion of the training period, the candidate will return to DFW to assume responsibility for DFW operations.

Position Summary:

This role ensures safety, quality, client satisfaction, and financial performance across all operations. Because commercial stations run overnight and around the clock, the GM II is a working manager - approximately 75% of the role is hands-on floor work during peak banks, turnovers, and coverage gaps, with the remaining 25% dedicated to leadership and administration. The GM II works through Operations Managers, Aviation Supervisors, and team leads to manage staffing, scheduling, equipment, airline client relations, training, and adherence to company and airport standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Safety and Compliance:
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to company safety policies, client-specific requirements, and airport authority rules.
  • Identify safety gaps and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment on the ramp, in the cabin, and in the facility.
  • Lead safety briefings, training sessions, and maintain collaboration with the Safety/Training Department.
  • Ensure HIT forms are completed as hazards are identified and that corrective actions are tracked to closure.
  • Participate in incident investigations and follow up on corrective measures.

2. Operational Management:
  • Oversee daily operations across all service verticals within the location, including overnight (3rd shift) and weekend/holiday coverage.
  • Ensure 7-day-per-week, 24-hour coverage of the station is maintained and that schedules align with airline flight banks and turn times.
  • Maintain staffing levels, approve schedules, and ensure efficient workflow across all shifts.
  • Work alongside the team during peak periods, irregular operations, and coverage gaps to ensure on-time aircraft release (approximately 75% hands-on).
  • Monitor performance of Operations Managers, supervisors, and team leads, providing guidance and coaching as needed.
  • Approve personnel actions such as raises, promotions, or disciplinary measures in alignment with ownership guidelines.

3. Badging and Airport Compliance:
  • Maintain complete and current badging records for all team members in compliance with airport authority and TSA requirements.
  • Coordinate with the back office to ensure timely badging, background checks, drug screening, and onboarding of new hires.
  • Serve as the location point of contact for airport authority, airline station leadership, and third-party audits.
  • Ensure company vehicles and GSE operating on the AOA are compliant, insured, and properly marked.

4. Equipment and Supplies:
  • Evaluate and recommend equipment purchases and capital improvements within budgetary limits.
  • Ensure maintenance and safety compliance of all equipment, company vehicles, and ground support equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate timely supply procurement using Foxtrot and vendor internal systems.

5. Client and Quality Management:
  • Serve as the primary liaison to airline station management and other commercial clients to address concerns, provide solutions, and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ensure all work meets contractual obligations, service level agreements, and airline-specific cabin appearance standards.
  • Monitor cabin scores and internal and external quality audit results, driving corrective action where standards are not met.
  • Ensure quality control through cabin walks and checklist verification on a sampled basis across every shift.
  • Review operational reports, debriefs, and audits to maintain continuous improvement.

6. Training and Development:
  • Identify training gaps and coordinate skill development for team members.
  • Ensure every team member is trained in quality work, checklist use, and safety prior to working unsupervised.
  • Set elevation goals (development plans) for Operations Managers and supervisors, and build a bench of internal candidates.
  • Collaborate with department leads to ensure compliance with training protocols and standards.

7. Revenue and Financial Goals:
  • Manage P&L for the location, monitor revenue, expenses, and labor costs.
  • Ensure labor metric adherence within tolerances on the pulse sheet across all shifts.
  • Identify new business opportunities and lead or assist in bid, RFP, and proposal preparation for commercial contracts.
  • Support contract renewals and scope changes with accurate labor and cost modeling.
  • Achieve financial performance targets, including revenue growth and cash flow objectives.

8. Administrative Duties:
  • Audit vehicles, equipment, and operational areas to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with closeout forms, checklists, and debrief forms, including overnight uploads of signed do lists.
  • Ensure expenses are captured and receipts uploaded through Divvy throughout the month.
  • Maintain operational reports, checklists, and ensure data accuracy for leadership review.
