Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President of Operations, the General Manager serves as the on-property leader for all departments, setting the tone for service culture, operational execution, and financial accountability. The ideal candidate is a strategic operator with a proven track record in full-service hotel management, strong P&L acumen, and the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.

What you will do:

Financial Performance & Strategic Planning

  • Drive revenue growth through proactive management of ADR, occupancy, RevPAR, and total revenue across all departments.
  • Monitor and manage P&L performance, implementing corrective action to achieve or exceed financial targets.
  • Conduct ongoing analysis of market conditions, competitive set, and demand trends to inform pricing and sales strategies.

Operations & Brand Standards
  • Oversee day-to-day hotel operations across all departments, ensuring seamless guest experiences that meet or exceed Embassy Suites brand standards.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards through regular property inspections, department audits, and guest satisfaction data review.
  • Ensure prompt and effective resolution of guest concerns, championing a culture of service recovery and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with corporate support teams (revenue management, digital marketing, HR, finance) to optimize performance across all disciplines.
  • Maintain full compliance with all brand, franchise, ownership, and regulatory requirements.

Sales, Revenue & Marketing
  • Lead and support the implementation of local and national sales and marketing programs to drive occupancy and revenue.
  • Actively engage in key account management, community relationships, and local business development to strengthen the hotel's market position.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Operations and corporate teams on revenue strategy, channel management, and digital performance.

Team Leadership & Human Resources
  • Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing leadership team; conduct regular performance evaluations and implement succession planning.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that drives employee engagement, productivity, and retention.
  • Maintain a proactive HR function ensuring compliance with labor laws, wage and benefit administration, and company policy.
  • Champion ongoing training, development, and coaching programs to build team capability at all levels.
  • Manage the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, performance management, and separation processes.

Capital, Facilities & Vendor Management
