In this role, you will lead strategic sourcing and category management for indirect spend categories, including technology (hardware, software, SaaS, cloud services), professional services, and other corporate functions. You will partner closely with IT, Information Security, Finance, Legal, People, and business leaders to develop sourcing strategies that deliver business value while balancing cost, risk, service, and innovation. Finally, you will work across other departments to drive value and provide guidance as well as ensure adherence to procurement processes and policy compliance across the enterprise.
What You'll Do- Develop and maintain multi-year category roadmaps with savings, risk, and service objectives
- Manage strategic supplier relationships across assigned indirect spend categories, including technology and professional services, while proactively monitoring financial, operational, cybersecurity, and regulatory risks.
- Develop and execute sourcing and negotiation strategies that optimize total cost of ownership, mitigate risk, improve supplier performance, and maximize business value.
- Track and report benefits realization vs. targets
- Lead end-to-end competitive sourcing events (RFPs, RFIs, RFQs) and cross-functional sourcing teams involving Finance, Legal, IT, Information Security, People, and Operations to deliver optimal commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate and influence stakeholders and senior leaders to gain agreement on priorities and engagement mechanics
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies and controls
- Partner with IT and Information Security to source and negotiate technology solutions including software, SaaS platforms, cloud services, hardware, telecommunications, and technology services.
- Develop sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories by leveraging market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and total cost of ownership analysis.
- Evaluate supplier capabilities, licensing models, and commercial structures to support technology investments.
- Partner with Legal to negotiate complex commercial agreements and manage the contract lifecycle from sourcing through execution and renewal.
- Analyze spend, supplier performance, market trends, and business demand to identify opportunities for cost optimization, supplier consolidation, operational efficiency, and innovation.
What You'll Bring- Minimum 7+ years' experience in a Procurement role, supporting or leading category initiatives
- Demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing and category management initiatives across indirect procurement categories, including technology, professional services, or other corporate spend.
- Strong understanding of supplier markets, commercial models, licensing structures, and market trends within indirect procurement categories.
- Ability to develop, and sustain, productive networking relationships
- Ability to deliver reporting from source systems, analyze/interpret data, and make recommendations to stakeholders
- Skilled in stakeholder management and asserting influence in challenging situations
- Demonstrated success providing outstanding customer service
- Demonstrated financial and commercial acumen (TCO, ROI)
- Ability to discover, re-engineer and deliver on process optimization projects
- Strong project management, leadership and presentation skills
- Experience supporting technology procurement, including software, SaaS, cloud services, telecommunications, or IT services preferred
- Knowledge of contract negotiation, supplier governance, and supplier performance management
- Experience with spend analytics, category planning, and procurement reporting tools

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for this position is $95,000 to $130,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
