Title: Enterprise - Composable Platforms Architect
Who You'll Work With
You'll join Slalom's global team of strategists, researchers, designers, and technologists. This team is dedicated to achieving strategic goals, investing in the future, and driving innovation. Your role will involve working with diverse teams to develop modern, composable digital experiences using cutting-edge technologies and API-first platforms.
What You'll Do
- Craft Modular & Performant Components: Design and build semantic, accessible, modular components that ensure performance and scalability.
- Support Headless CMS Integrations: Develop modern digital experiences using headless CMS platforms like Contentful, Sanity, ContentStack, Storybloq, and Sitecore AI.
- Deploy with Modern Cloud Platforms: Use platforms like Vercel to manage and deploy applications efficiently, focusing on performance and speed.
- Optimize Front-End Workflows: Automate front-end infrastructure, integrate with back-end APIs and streamline design systems usage across multiple brands and channels.
- Work with Multi-disciplinary Teams: Collaborate with project managers, digital strategists, designers, and researchers to craft bespoke digital experiences using modern composable architectures.
What You'll Bring
- Front-end Expertise: Strong proficiency in semantic, responsive, and accessible front-end code, modern JavaScript frameworks such as Next.js, React, or Vue.js, a solid understanding of CSS (e.g., CSS doesn't scare you), and familiarity with frameworks like Tailwind.
- Work Across the Stack: You build API routes, wire up databases, configure auth flows, set up CI/CD, and debug production issues. You don't wait for a backend engineer to unblock you.
- Composable & Headless Architectures: Deep experience with API-first, headless Digital Experience Platforms (DXP) like CMS, DAM, Personalization, CDP, and integrating with SaaS APIs and API gateways to create modern, composable digital experiences.
- Unit Testing: You define and implement testing strategies for React/Next.js applications using tools like Jest, Vitest, and React Testing Library. You write tests and establish patterns that make testing approachable for the broader team.
- Design Systems: Experience consuming component libraries and design systems (e.g., Figma, Storybook) to ensure consistency across brands and channels.
- Performance Optimization: Understanding of Core Web Vitals, image optimization, code splitting, and caching strategies to deliver fast, high-quality user experiences.
- DevOps Awareness: Comfortable with Git workflows and deployment automation in platforms like Vercel or Netlify.
- Simplifying Complexity: You excel at making complex technical challenges easily understandable for technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complexity into simplicity.
- Balancing Technical & Business Goals: You expertly balance technical constraints with business opportunities, providing solutions that address human-centered and technical problems.
- Team Collaboration: You foster a positive and collaborative environment where multidisciplinary teams thrive, working within agile processes using tools such as JIRA and adjusting swiftly to new priorities or discoveries.

- AI-Augmented Development: You leverage AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot) as a core part of your workflow that includes generating, refactoring, and debugging code; writing tests and documentation; and identifying where AI meaningfully accelerates delivery. You can translate requirements into AI-assisted workflows, communicate tradeoffs to clients, and support conversations about responsible AI adoption.
Travel:
Travel may be required up to 25% based on client needs.

Slalom is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges:
East Bay, San Francisco, Silicon Valley:
Principal: $190,000-$232,000
San Diego, Los Angeles, Orange County, Seattle, Boston, Houston, New Jersey, New York City, Washington DC, Westchester:
Principal: $174,000-$213,000
All other locations:
Principal: $160,000-$195,000
In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
