Full Job Description
Laitram, L.L.C. is seeking an accomplished and strategic General Counsel to report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. This executive will lead the company's Legal and Risk Support Department, including responsibility for transactional risk management, intellectual property, product stewardship, external compliance, and the corporate secretarial function.

The General Counsel will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and business partners across the organization, providing practical, business-oriented legal counsel on a broad range of legal, regulatory, governance, compliance, and risk management matters. The ideal candidate will bring strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to lead a high-performing team in support of a complex and evolving business environment.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements

Responsibilities

Provide strategic legal and risk guidance across all business operations.
  • Advise senior leadership and cross-functional teams on legal, regulatory, compliance, and governance matters.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor with strong academic credentials and 20+ years of legal experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Five or more years of experience serving in a Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel, or similarly senior legal leadership role, preferably within a privately held company.
  • Experience advising global or multinational businesses, including on patent enforcement matters.
  • Experience overseeing or directly supporting the corporate secretarial function in a private company.
  • A clear passion for learning, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
