Full Job Description
Requisition Summary

The General Accounting Supervisor's role involves close interaction with various departments within Peterbilt and personnel throughout the organization. The General Accounting Supervisor will perform monthly inventory and reserve accruals, reconciliations, SOX & ICAP testing and is responsible for supervising, mentoring and motivating the Accounts Payable staff, a staff size of five.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review month-end journal entries for inventory & reserve accruals.
  • Perform and review reconciliations for various accounts.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reserve forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly LIFO & working capital inventory analysis.
  • Perform SOX & ICAP testing.
  • Coordinate various year-end projects such as 1099's and sensitive payment audits.
  • Participate in annual physical inventories, build station audits and inventory interim reconciliations.
  • Supervise and support the Accounts Payable staff.
  • Initiate process improvements and assist with special projects.
  • Up to 5% travel can be expected


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting
  • 5 + years of relevant accounting experience.

  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be comfortable making oral presentations to peers and management.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills required to manage various projects.
  • Deadline-driven and self-motivated.
