We are seeking a highly motivated, well-organized individual to join Siemens Energy's US Technical Sales Team within Grid Technologies Services. The Lead Estimator/Proposal Specialist will work with Siemens Energy sales teams and customers to develop proposals for the Equipment maintenance contracts, construction, and operation and maintenance contracts for substations. This role is for a front-line, technical sales supporting Service bids/tenders/proposals/offers for GIS (Gas-Insulated Switchgear) and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) projects, mostly in brown field. Collaborate and communicate with Siemens Energy account managers, Business Unit Sales and other Siemens Energy Business Units to identify proper strategy and scopes of work. Our service offering centers around the transmission substation where we maintain key components within it, the entire substation itself and our substation turnkey business too. Such Services include but are not limited to; (i) Transformer Maintenance (ii) Breaker Maintenance (iii) GIS/AIS Maintenance (iv) LTSA for substation & their assets.
How You'll Make an Impact
Collaborates with Marketing to understand and influence efforts to support Sales activities.
Supports leadership in the collection of voice of customer (VOC) data to help advance new product development, product upgrades/refreshes, and service offerings.
Ensures proper utilization of customer relationship management software (CRM-Salesforce)
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Science, Engineering, Business or related preferred. Electrical Engineering Degree is a plus.
8 or more years of experience in similar job function. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
Proven experience estimating utility-focused construction and services, including reviewing specifications, scopes of work, and drawings
Demonstrated ability to lead and align cross-functional teams to develop competitive, winning bids
Strong business acumen with understanding of the competitive landscape, legal/regulatory environment, and customer needs; able to adapt strategy accordingly
Excellent written and verbal communication, time-management skills, and a consistent track record of meeting or exceeding individual and team targets
Travel, as needed (~15%), both domestically and internationally.
