Full Job Description
Basic Function

The Gas & Fuel Supply Lead will support and drive strategy, development, contracting, and readiness of natural gas supply and transportation arrangements required to support reliable and economic operation of Ohio Powered Land gas-fired generation assets.

This person will report to the Project Director, Development & Integration, with close coordination with Commercial & Offtake.

Responsibilities
  • Support and develop integrated fuel-supply strategy, demand forecast, reliability criteria, contingency plan, and commercial roadmap for development and operations.
  • Provide assessment of upstream supply, interstate and intrastate pipeline transportation, lateral and interconnect options, capacity availability, pressure/quality requirements, storage, balancing, and redundancy.
  • Lead or support requests for proposals, commercial evaluations, negotiations, and execution of gas supply, transportation, interconnection, balancing, and related agreements.
  • Coordinate fuel assumptions and facility requirements with generation technology selection, heat-rate modeling, dispatch profiles, air permitting, site layout, pipeline engineering, schedule, and project economics.
  • Manage relationships with producers, marketers, pipeline companies, utilities, consultants, counsel, and regulatory stakeholders.
  • Identify basis, congestion, curtailment, credit, capacity, construction, regulatory, force-majeure, and operational risks and recommend mitigations.
  • Track pipeline/lateral development, metering and regulation facilities, permits, easements, procurement, construction, testing, nominations readiness, and first-gas milestones.
  • Review and develop fuel budgets, forecasts, decision materials, and contract-compliance processes; support lender, investor, customer, and internal diligence.
  • Plan the transition of fuel scheduling, nominations, imbalance management, settlement, and emergency procedures to the operating organization.
  • Confirm target pipelines, lateral/interconnect ownership model, firm capacity requirements, dual-fuel or backup-fuel scope, and operating dispatch assumptions.
  • Confirm commercial approval limits, credit/hedging responsibilities, 24/7 operational support expectations, and direct reports.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, finance, economics, business, energy management, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in natural gas supply, transportation, origination, trading, pipeline development, or fuel procurement supporting power generation or large industrial loads.
  • Strong knowledge of physical gas markets, pipeline tariffs and operations, transportation contracts, nominations/balancing, pricing, basis risk, and reliability planning.
  • Experience negotiating commercial agreements and coordinating technical, legal, credit, regulatory, finance, and operations stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze fuel demand, heat-rate and dispatch assumptions, market data, transportation alternatives, and commercial risk.
  • Excellent negotiation, relationship-management, quantitative, presentation, and decision-support skills.
  • Experience with PJM-region gas-electric coordination and relevant pipeline systems preferred.

Location: Hybrid or On Site near Piketon, OH. 60% Travel if Hybrid.

Base Pay - $140,000 - $170,000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks-while ensuring internal parity across our teams.
