A leading global alternative asset manager is seeking a Fund Accounting Manager to join its established accounting team in Los Angeles.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded investment firm managing a multi-billion-dollar portfolio across hedge funds, private credit, private equity-style investments, and real estate. You'll work closely with senior finance leadership while overseeing key fund accounting activities supporting sophisticated investment vehicles.
What you'll be doing:
- Supervise and mentor members of the fund accounting team
- Review daily trading activity and reconciliations with prime brokers and custodians
- Review NAV calculations, month-end valuations, and financial reporting
- Review hedge fund financial statements and investor reporting
- Perform performance reporting and analysis for investment professionals
- Approve cash transfers, wire activity, and other fund transactions
- Coordinate annual audits and work closely with external auditors
- Review pricing for complex investment securities
- Account for derivatives, bank loans, private investments, and other complex instruments
- Partner with fund administrators to resolve NAV breaks and ensure timely regulatory reporting
We're looking for professionals with:
- 7-10+ years of fund accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of NAV calculations, partnership accounting, valuations, and complex securities
- Experience working with hedge funds, private credit, private equity funds, or other alternative investment vehicles
- Strong understanding of investment accounting and financial reporting
- CPA preferred but not required
- Prior Big Four experience is a plus
- Experience with Geneva is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
