The Opportunity with McKinstry

The Functional Training Program Manager ensures that training delivery, instructional development and knowledge assets are aligned to provide creative high-caliber job specific training for business operations and project delivery. Additional responsibilities may include:

Training Program Management
  • Manage various training projects including planning work, managing details, keeping multiple tasks/projects on track, and achieving reliable results.
  • Build and maintain learning paths for various staff and field positions; track training completion for employees in those roles.
  • Leverage strong consulting skills to assess, develop and implement innovative networked learning solutions that assist the business to meet strategic initiatives and future growth.
  • Measure training effectiveness and plan continuous improvement efforts.
  • Manage training programs and projects in an entrepreneurial environment requiring strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Collaborate with senior-level stakeholders while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Take initiative/be proactive without waiting for direction.

Team Leadership
  • Hire, coach and performance manage team members consistent with McKinstry values.

Instructional Design
  • Assess business learning needs and determine the most effective learning solutions.
  • Design clear and compelling training content to meet business needs.
  • Work directly with development teams and stakeholders to produce extraordinary training content and agile eLearning solutions.
  • Understand unique job expectations and business process for strategic roles and communicate them effectively to desired audience.
  • Determine the proper blend of learning solution that reinforces hands-on application of the tools, enhances the learning transfer, and engages learners.
  • Develop first-hand experience with the appropriate subject matter (systems or products).
  • Design train-the-trainer experiences that prepare SMEs to deliver blended programs.
  • Conceptualize technical/functional content into something creative and effective.
  • Conduct technical and editorial reviews of training content.
  • Meet project milestones, communicate issues and risks in a timely manner, and manage customer expectations.

What You Need To Succeed at McKinstry:
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and manage change in a highly dynamic environment required.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and focus on quality required.
  • Demonstrated abilities as a creative and analytical problem solver with a passion for excellent customer service required.
  • Education/Experience: 5+ years of overall program management experience, with 2+ years in Project Management and Program Management capacity required,
  • 3-5 years' experience working in a relevant learning and development field such as instructional design, education, learning and development, training organizational development required.
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint and Excel) required.
  • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, and attentive to detail required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication abilities including skills in explaining technical topics to novices and collaborating with subject matter experts, stakeholders and managers required.
  • Ability to thrive in an innovative, fast-paced environment, can roll up their sleeves, work hard, have fun, and get the job done required.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining a professional demeanor required.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Working knowledge of Power BI.
    • Experience developing courseware to current Industry and adult learning standards, performance support aids, online tutorials and/or other training materials, including gaming modules.
    • Experience with eLearning tools such as Captivate, Articulate Studio/Storyline, Camtasia, Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator, Flash and Software technology like HTML, Javascript for learning portal design.
    • Experience working with Learning Management Systems like Litmos (current standard).
    • Multi-media development skills in audio, video, and/or animation.

The pay range for this position is $80,100 - $134,400 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
