Job Description

This role will provide strategic support to the leadership team within the Facilities and Plant Operations (FPO) department of the Space & Mission Systems sector. The FPO leadership team, led by the Sr. Director, comprises senior leaders overseeing Strategy & Space Utilization and Facilities Operations. These leaders work collaboratively to create environments that foster fulfillment, enrichment, diversity, safety, and sustainability while adapting to changing conditions.

The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution - from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.

What You'll Do:
  • Gather, interpret, analyze, and support the reporting of monthly and quarterly metrics, including quality, on-time delivery, and savings. This includes extracting data from internal dashboards, ensuring accuracy of data, calculating metrics, and creating slides that tells a story with the data.
  • Financial analysis of day-to-day expenses supporting Facilities management. Gather and analyze monthly spending and trends and work with accounting functions to rectify any issues. Assist with Facilities Operations management in gathering, interpreting, and analyzing costs to monitor for waste and/or misuse.
  • Developing a process for executing and tracking projects and initiatives for Facilities. This includes overseeing, monitoring, and reporting on special projects as needed to support the operations of the FPO organization. Examples include: Monitor SMS internal customer and Inc.-level requests, including metrics, reports, and feedback on updates to policies and procedures
  • Assist with real estate lease management, monthly lease processing, and landlord relations. Support and prepare necessary SMS forms and policies related to real estate transactions per Inc Real Estate Policy.
  • Support the Sr. Director and senior leaders with daily execution tasks including managing calendars, establishing/supporting meetings , all-hands, customer events, recognition, employee appreciation events, onboarding activities, etc., and keeping the leaders informed of events, travel, etc.
  • Generate documents, reports, and presentations using MS Office suite tools.
  • Monitor SMS internal customer and Inc-level requests, including metrics, reports, and feedback on updates to policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.


Required Skills and Education

  • BS/BA in related field plus 2 or more years related experience.
  • Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master's Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
  • A bias for action when addressing multiple simultaneous tasks.

  • A demonstrated ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated experience of effectively working in a fast-paced operations environment.
