Full Job Description
OVERALL ACCOUNTABILITY:

To provide expertise and participate in the prioritization, selection, implementation and support of Finance related applications. This role utilizes consulting, business knowledge and functional expertise to effectively integrate technology into the business environment in order to achieve expected results.

Examples of key initiatives for the Application Services group:
  • Partner with the Project Management group to implement an improved, stream-lined Project Management Process leveraging Microsoft Project Server
  • Become a functional expert in the configuration of Epicor ERP system, focused on the Financial aspects, and aligned with corporate Finance processes and procedures.
  • Expand on the initial vision for the Functional Analyst role within the organization.
  • Customer relationship management.
  • Revamp the Account Management strategy to establish guidelines and standards for business profiles.
  • Work with Solution Architects to establish boundaries between project documentation, such as high level design, solution blueprint, functional specification etc.
  • Work with business to create account profiles and prioritize upcoming initiatives in alignment to business strategies.
  • Contribute to establishing a standard approach to Quality Management

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Business Initiative Planning and Strategy
  • Document the necessary IT deliverables required to enable the business strategy
  • Produce and maintain a strategy, communication and initiative progress profile for the IT/Business relationship for the area - e.g. keep current a document of what the business strategy is, the IT initiatives (large and small projects, enhancements, incidents, etc.) aligned with the strategy, how they are progressing, resources involved, and the business view on the progress.This document would be reviewed on a regular basis with the business, IT Management and IT senior leadership.
  • Own the relationship with the business on behalf of the Applications group.
  • Understand business strategy and objectives
  • Conduct monthly stakeholder meetings to discuss resource allocations and project prioritizations.
  • Build and maintain account profiles to outline alignment of initiatives to business priorities.
  • Facilitate the enhancement prioritization process with the appropriate business and IT resources.

Project Execution: Functional
  • Act as a liaison with business to troubleshoot, investigate and solve software problems and design and configure necessary product modifications to satisfy customer requirements
  • Provides consulting services to business by exhibiting functional expertise with a focus on financial systems and processes.
  • Prepare deliverables to support the development and deployment of a solution, such as functional specifications and configuration/customization guides.
  • Identify, define, and model the application requirements for packaged applications and custom components.
  • Participate in the design, and configuration of applications supported by the application solutions team.
  • Work with the Functional Lead to report on the status of assigned tasks, provide work estimates, raises problems and concerns.
  • Work with Application Developers to provide orientation on the application solution, explaining system and processing requirements.
  • Analyze the current business processes and scenarios of a business unit and recommend/create solutions to meet business needs
  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle and software development methodology, with particular focus on Quality Assurance
  • Assist with identifying testing scenarios, requirements traceability, and master data setup in preparation for testing.
  • Conduct validation testing to validate application functionality and traceability to requirements.
  • Provide functional guidance and support to QA testers for testing and defect management.
  • Contribute to successful implementations of application changes by providing functional expertise and guidance
  • Post go-live support to address on-going user inquiries.
  • Ensure that procedures remain usable post go-live and consistent in live business situations and propose enhancements as needed.
  • Provide knowledge of functional design best practices and apply to project management methodologies.
  • Assist with an on-going rollout of a SharePoint based Records Management solution.


SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Configuration experience with an ERP application (must have)
  • Deployment, support and functional specs development with financial applications
  • Ability to analyze problems, PRIORITIZE and provide clear recommendations
  • Exceptional problem-solving and time management skills
  • Strong personal and technical communication skills, written and verbal
  • Must be able to work independently as well as a team player and can manage own workload
  • Able to multi-task and work under tight deadlines
  • Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Outgoing, personable, responsible, self-motivated, and confident
  • Knowledge of Records Management policies and procedures would be an asset
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft Tools (e.g. Project Server, Team Foundation Server)
