Description:
Under general supervision, performs process analysis and design through coordination with technical and functional staff. Pursuant to the State of Texas Executive Order No. GA-48, this position researches, works on, or has access to critical infrastructure and requires the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the University infrastructure. This position requires personnel be routinely reviewed to determine whether or not criminal history or continuous connections for the government or political apparatus of a foreign adversary might prevent the employee from being able to maintain the security or integrity of the infrastructure.
1. Responsible for complex system process analysis, design and simulation. Understands the University?s business systems and State of Texas regulations.
2. Responsible for analysis and re-design of current processes.
3. Communicates and resolves issues with functional staff, and coordinates programming requirements with technical staff. Recommends and facilitates improvements to current policies and procedures.
4. Integrates new process with existing ones, and coordinates training requirements for end-users.
5. Recommends testing strategies and acceptance criteria.
6. Troubleshoots and assists service-related departments with issues relating to software applications.
7. Assists departments with maintaining data integrity and the set up and maintenance of security.
8. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MQ: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4 year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of one (1) years of directly job-related experience.
Additional Job Posting Information:
• Serve as OTTI CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system expert with focus on Salesforce.
• Work with Salesforce personnel to deploy system upgrades in OTTI.
• Develop and implement data analysis schemes within Salesforce for processing law firm invoices and licensee invoicing, among other features.
• Write custom code for Salesforce as needed.
• Prepare and distribute monthly reports on law firm costs, license agreements, etc.
• Maintain other OTTI software tools, including FirstIgnite, Inpart, Patsnap, etc.
Background and Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years working in business systems development, application development, application administration, enterprise application support, data migration, management and mapping, or related technical activities.
• Minimum of 3 years working with Salesforce (preferred) or related CRM, including:
o Experience developing, administering, and supporting Salesforce.
o Experience developing and maintaining custom Salesforce functionality.
o Experience with Salesforce configuration, workflow automation, and application administration.
• Experience supporting intellectual property management, contract management, customer relationship management, or research administration systems.
Knowledge and Abilities:
• Knowledge of business application development and systems integration.
• Knowledge of workflow automation and business process analysis.
• Knowledge of data management, data integrity, and reporting practices.
• Ability to develop, test, implement, and maintain custom technical solutions.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex application and system issues.
• Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical users.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects and priorities.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Office staff, University departments, information technology personnel, and external vendors.
Education and Training:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
• Certified Salesforce user preferred; e.gs. Salesforce Certified Platform Development Lifecycle and Deployment Architect; see
