A private household in Miami Beach is seeking an experienced full-time Private Chef with a strong background in Lebanese cuisine, along with Mediterranean and Italian cuisines experience. The household consists primarily of one gentleman who shares joint custody of his 7-year-old daughter. His daughter and her nanny are typically in residence every other week.
The home is also staffed by a full-time Housekeeper, House Manager/Personal Assistant, and the Nanny when the child is staying with the principal. The chef should be comfortable working collaboratively and professionally as part of an established household team.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about using fresh, high-quality ingredients to prepare flavorful, family-style meals that are both well-presented and enjoyable. The chef should be highly skilled in: Lebanese cuisine - essential,Mediterranean & Italian cuisine, Fresh, healthy, high-quality everyday meals & snacks, child-friendly meals when appropriate
ScheduleThis is a full-time, 5-day-per-week position, with Monday and Tuesday typically as the chef's regular days off.
The chef will primarily prepare: Occasional late breakfast, generally around 11:00 AM, Lunch, typically served around 2:30-3:00 PM and dinner, typically served around 8:00-8:30 PM
Flexibility is important. When the principal is entertaining, hosting guests, or during major Miami events such as Art Basel and other festivals, additional workdays or schedule adjustments may be required.
Responsibilities: - Prepare and serve daily meals occasional breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks
- Grocery shopping and coordinating specialty food purchases
- Maintaining pantry, refrigerator, and freezer inventory
- Monitoring ingredient quality, freshness, and expiration dates
- Adjusting menus when the principal entertains
- Preparing larger or more elaborate meals for special events and gatherings
- Maintaining a clean, sanitary, and highly organized kitchen
- Maintaining kitchen equipment and reporting any maintenance concerns
Requirements- Strong professional experience preparing authentic Lebanese cuisine
- Excellent knowledge of Mediterranean and Italian cuisine
- Experience working in private households
- Professional, discreet, calm, and service-oriented demeanor
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility to work additional days when the principal is entertaining or hosting special events
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally
- Strong professional references
Compensation: $130k to $150k, based on experience, plus a travel stipend and additional pay for extra days worked.
