Full Job Description
Position Title: Full Stack Developer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Type: Full time

Travel: 10% or less, occasional travel may be required

Reports to: Software Development Manager

Supervises: None

Work Location: Onsite- Toledo, OH

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Software Development Manager, executes the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Wurtec software platforms. This is an onsite position based at Wurtec's Toledo office. The ideal candidate will possess an ownership mentality and a continuous improvement mindset. The role requires excellent customer service and technical support.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Design and implement software to develop revolutionary and novel products for the elevator and escalator (E&E) industry.
  • Assist the engineering team in software development and maintenance projects.
  • Design, develop, test, debug, and implement solutions for both new & existing systems.
  • Prepare flow charts to document system logic and processes.
  • Identify and develop solutions to address technical debt.
  • Excel at troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Analyze acceptance criteria and provide estimates of effort.
    • Manage projects to ensure they are completed logically and efficiently.
  • Write reusable and maintainable code.
  • Contribute to goal and objective development for the engineering department; recommend, implement, and assist with administering methods and procedures to enhance operations.
  • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in web development.
  • Accept all projects assigned and see them through to completion.


Technical Skills and Experience:

Required
  • Solid experience in application and software systems development
  • Experience designing and developing cloud-based solutions (AWS or similar)
  • Experience with TypeScript/JavaScript/C
  • Experience using Linux
  • Experience with React, GraphQL (Apollo Server), Postgres, Twilio, and WebRTC
  • Strong knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for analyzing and developing software test and evaluation procedures
  • Experience with containerization and CI/CD tooling

Preferred
  • Experience using AI tools to develop code (ex: Claude Code)
  • Experience with AWS IoT
  • Experience using embedded computers (ex. Raspberry Pi/ Jetson Nano / Beaglebone)
  • Experience using hypervisors (VMware, Proxmox)
  • Experience working with Agile teams

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Occasional work in test labs and/or on construction sites may be required.
