Thework location for this role is 483 Bay Street in Toronto until approximately late 2026, when the work location will change to the new Mississauga office at 3 Robert Speck Parkway.
Business Overview
The Full Stack Developer, Investly is responsible for helping to build and maintain Java and React.js applications. Capabilities for this role include being able to build applications in Java, using modern architectures; being hands on in Object Oriented Languages (Java, Kotlin, C#, Objective C/Swift), Cloud Based Technologies (AWS), Front-End Frameworks (React JS, Node.js), and Mobile Development Frameworks (React Native, Swift/Objective C, Kotlin/Java); application coding based on design and specifications the Full Stack Developer is responsible for having a strong aptitude for understanding complex business problems and translating their technical knowledge into practical, implementable solutions that will drive high impact business value. Incumbent will work closely with other team members to maintain internal applications and develop new products and services.
What You Will Do
Reporting to the Director of Investly Software Product Development, the Full Stack Developer will:
- Liaise with internal user groups as needed to effectively program applications based on business and systems requirements
- Work collaboratively with peers and business partners to deliver high quality projects and innovative solutions
- Ensures that functional specifications can be implemented technically while developing and innovating creative solutions
- Design, develop, enhance, modify, and maintain application code and software solutions based on specific business requirements
- Implements the best practices of Agile and DevSecOps for development to deliver quality products predictably and consistently
- Develop unit tests to ensure high quality code and be accountable for the quality of the product delivered
- Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. May interact with users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications
What You Will Bring
- Strong planning and software implementation skills
- Understanding of the importance of non-functional requirements include security, performance, and data management
- Experience in both user interface and API implementation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, both written and oral
- The ability to drive consensus amongst key stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present and comprehend technical details clearly
- Ability to demonstrate product demos to users and stakeholders, collect feedback and implement improvements
Experience, Education
- University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics or equivalent work experience
- 3+ years of Java, or JavaScript frameworks (i.e. React, Angular), or mobile (either hybrid or native) development experience
- Experience with the following applications:
- Interface with back-end applications using MQ, SOAP, RESTFUL services, and JSON
- MySQL or similar SQL-based database systems
- Application development using Java
- Web development using React JS or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
- Agile project management tools (JIRA), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Developing AWS or other cloud solutions according to industry best practices

For this role, your total rewards include:
- Base Salary and Discretionary Performance Bonus: A competitive annual range of $99,000 to $135,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
