Job Summary:
The Lead Full Stack Mobile Engineer will own and lead the development of customer-facing mobile ordering applications for Android and iOS within the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry. The role combines hands-on full-stack development with technical leadership, including migration from an existing .NET MAUI application to a modern React/React Native and Node.js architecture. The engineer will own the technical roadmap, guide architectural decisions, mentor engineering teams, and deliver scalable, high-quality mobile experiences while remaining approximately 70% hands-on development and 30% technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the company's customer-facing mobile ordering platform and own its technical roadmap, platform enhancements, and overall application success.
• Drive the transition from an existing .NET MAUI application to a modern React/React Native and Node.js architecture.
• Design, build, maintain, and enhance mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Perform hands-on development, contributing approximately 70% of time to coding and technical implementation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship, contributing approximately 30% of time to engineering leadership activities.
• Manage and mentor a team of 3-4 developers across San Antonio and offshore teams.
• Develop and maintain backend APIs and services using Node.js.
• Support ordering functionality, menu updates, pricing changes, and new feature development.
• Apply REST APIs and mobile application architecture principles to build scalable solutions.
• Conduct code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Troubleshoot production issues, debug applications, and optimize application performance.
• Partner with product and design teams to deliver business objectives and customer-focused solutions.
• Drive technical decision-making and long-term platform strategy.
• Own products and applications end-to-end, from development through deployment and ongoing maintenance.
• Publish and maintain applications through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Support application migration and modernization initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
• 3-4+ years of Lead Engineer or Engineering Leadership experience.
• Experience owning products or applications end-to-end.
• Strong hands-on experience developing mobile applications for Android and iOS.
• Hands-on experience with .NET MAUI or Xamarin.
• Strong JavaScript and TypeScript development experience.
• Experience building applications with React and/or React Native.
• Backend development experience with Node.js.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and mobile application architecture.
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
• Required experience in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and managing engineering teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Ability to work onsite in San Antonio, TX.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Redux or other state management solutions.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
• Experience with restaurant technology or digital ordering platforms.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and Claude.
• Experience with React Native migration initiatives.
• Advanced expertise in mobile application performance optimization.
