Job Description

The Senior Technical Trainer serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the facility, and conducts internal and external training sessions. Assures that department procedures provide appropriate guidance to department staff for adherence to department and quality standards of the company. This role involves ensuring that all activities and responsibilities are appropriately addressed in audits of the company, including relevant audit findings that are communicated to appropriate staff for inclusion in training materials and presentations.

What You'll Do:
• Present orientation material to new employees including documentation, calculations, computer/database systems and basic laboratory techniques. Develop and revise analytical methods and modules, slide presentations, notes, visuals, computer-based training programs, web-based training programs, job aids, games and lab activities.
• Train staff on the set-up, use, basic troubleshooting, and data interpretation for equipment such as HPLC and/or dissolution systems, including the data acquisition systems.
• Develop and revise analytical methods and modules, slide presentations, notes, visuals, computer-based training programs, web-based training programs, job aids, games and lab activities.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to all levels of analytical staff. Work with managers to determine root cause of deficiencies and develop solutions to ensure success.
• Review and provide recommendations for SOP revisions. Researche theory, analytical procedures and regulatory requirements for new capabilities, tests and techniques. Design and develop learning interventions and materials to meet business objectives. Perform searches of industry, academia and vendor supplied training programs for topics not offered on site.
• Perform training database administration, including setup and revision of content and assessments, training record entry and verification and updating of training requirements for all staff.
• Assist Training Manager with administration of training systems, including training database and web-based activities. Create and maintain web page material.

Education & Experience Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5+ years').

In some cases an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
• Knowledge of laboratory requirements, PPD SOPs, ICH guidelines, USP requirements and FDA guidance
• Strong theoretical and hands-on knowledge of separation science and general chemistry
• Good presentation skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Effective documentation and technical writing skills
• Proficient in web based training development and systems administration
• Proven analytical development and problem solving abilities
• Ability to review analytical data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Working Conditions and Environment:
• Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
• Occasional drives to site locations with occasional travel both domestic and international.

Physical Requirements:
• Frequently stationary for 6-8 hours per day.
• Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
• Frequent mobility required.
• Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck.
• Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.
• Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.
• Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
• Frequently interacts with others to obtain or relate information to diverse groups.
• Works independently with little guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions and plans work schedules to meet goals. Requires multiple periods of intense concentration.
• Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.
