About the job you're considering:Seeking a hands-on MCAD Support Engineer to manage and support engineering user environments, virtual desktops, and applications across a mixed Windows and Linux ecosystem. The role focuses on ensuring seamless user experience, application performance, and infrastructure stability.
Your role:- Support VMware Horizon / Omnissa environments (VDI sessions, connectivity, performance)
- Manage user accounts, access, and end-user environments.
- Troubleshoot SMB/CIFS shares, mapped drives, and application issues.
- Support Siemens NX, Teamcenter, and engineering applications.
- Handle software deployment, updates, and lifecycle management.
- Perform L1-L2 troubleshooting across OS, network, and application layers.
- Support backend systems including Linux environments and compute/HPC setups.
- Diagnose network/VPN issues impacting users and applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure SLA adherence.
Your skills and experience:- Experience with VMware Horizon / Omnissa Client.
- Strong understanding of Windows-based user environments and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Linux systems and basic administration.
- Experience with SMB/CIFS, file shares, and access issues.
- Familiarity with NX and Teamcenter.
- Knowledge of application deployment and support.
- Basic understanding of networking and VPN troubleshooting.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Good to have: Exposure to Ansys/FEA tools, experience working in HPC environments, proficiency in macOS Horizon client troubleshooting, and basic scripting or automation knowledge.
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $68,911 - $161,544/year
