Enlighten is looking for a motivated Frontend Developer who is passionate about building intuitive applications that meet the needs of our users. Asking questions, failing fast, and writing maintainable code are at the center of what we do while building applications for a Data Lake/Warehouse. Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the creation, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications.
  • JavaScript / CSS / HTML coding and code review.
  • Work closely with designers, backend engineers, and data scientists to build holistic user experiences.
  • Help define and interact with REST based API's.
  • Troubleshoot customer reported issues in applications and providing support.
  • Write unit tests and conduct quality assurance testing.
  • Experience with Next-Gen Coding Agents: Proven track record of integrating advanced AI agents, specifically Claude Code or Google's Antigravity / Gemini agentic workflows, into your daily software engineering routine.
  • Agentic Feature & Test Development: Experience using autonomous agents to handle multi-file feature implementations, complex codebase refactoring, and the automated generation of robust unit/integration tests.
  • Seamlessly transition between hands-on execution and team guidance, treating mentorship and team leadership as inherent components of senior-level impact.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Clearance Requirement: Must currently have and maintain an active Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • At least 9 years of experience with front end software development/engineering with a B.S. Degree in Computer Science or related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with JavaScript and one or more web application frameworks (ie: Vue / React / Angular / Backbone) or similar demonstrated competency.
  • Familiarity with Git or other version control software.
  • Comfortable working on a *nix command line.
  • Self-motivation; Ability to multi-task and prioritize open issues / tickets accordingly.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a tech lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to review information and compile data appropriately as needed.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average of 2-3 days (8hrs/day) per week at our Columbia, MD office or Ft. Meade onsite. Flexibility is essential to adapt to schedule changes as needed.


Preferred Requirements

  • Previous experience with a Data Lake/Warehouse is a plus.
  • Next-Gen Coding Agents: Proven use of AI tools (Claude Code, Gemini) in daily engineering workflows.
  • Agentic Feature Delivery: Using autonomous agents for multi-file implementation, refactoring, and automated testing.
  • DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required in this position as directed by the customer.
