FP&A Manager

The Role:

The FP&A Manager will lead financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities to support strategic decision-making within a manufacturing environment. This role partners closely with operations, commercial sales, and executive leadership to drive performance, improve profitability, and enhance financial visibility across the business unit, while ensuring strong internal controls and compliance with financial policies and regulations.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, long-range planning, and rolling forecasts.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support production planning, capital investments, and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Deliver timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting packages with clear, actionable insights.
  • Analyze variances across volume, price, mix, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption, identifying key business drivers.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on key manufacturing KPIs.
  • Manage the consolidation and reporting of business unit financial results through the TM1 reporting system.
  • Provide clear, concise, and insightful commentary to leadership on financial and operational performance.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational efficiency programs.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures (Capex), including ROI, payback, and overall financial justification.
  • Assess product-level profitability, customer margins, and pricing strategies to drive margin improvement.
  • Support inventory management strategies and working capital optimization initiatives.
  • Design and develop dashboards and reporting tools to enhance financial visibility and decision-making.
  • Foster a strong environment of internal controls and operational excellence.
  • Partner with Accounting to maintain robust controls over inventory, cost accounting, and financial reporting processes.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, transparency, and ethical financial practices across the organization.
  • Lead and execute ad hoc analyses and special projects to support business needs and strategic initiatives.

Key Accountabilities
  • Deliver accurate and reliable forecast/budget with clear explanations for variances.
  • Ensure timely, accurate and insightful financial report to support decision making at all levels of the business.
  • Maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with policies, and support successful audit outcomes.
  • Effectively partner with operations, sales, and leadership to influence strategic and operational decision.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of progressive FP&A experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior manufacturing experience with a strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, and key operational metrics.
  • Experience with internal controls, audit processes, and compliance frameworks preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Highly self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems; experience with TM1 and Great Plains is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Work location is onsite at our Cary facility. Must be able to participate in company paid visits to manufacturing and field locations, if needed.
