What You'll Own

Deliver multiple datasets to frontier AI labs end-to-end (source, qualify, manage contributors, ship)

Build delivery ops from scratch: processes, contributor management, quality control

Get creative on hard sources: rare languages, niche audio (people talking to AI agents), regulated data

Leverage and grow Specific Labs' contributor network and partner products

Manage commission economics: 5% margin on each project, directly tied to delivery quality and speed

Requirements

Must-Have

Some prior experience in human data delivery (internship, full-time role, or comparable). Janak direct: candidates building ops from scratch need at least some grounding.

0-5 years of experience with high slope. Demonstrated ability to ramp on ambiguous problems and ship.

Creative problem-solving: comfortable sourcing through unconventional channels (Facebook groups, partner negotiation, niche network mining). Standard playbooks won't work.

Detail-oriented executor with operations-from-zero comfort. You'll own delivery, contributor management, and quality control simultaneously.

SF in-person, 5.5 days a week. Open to relocation from NY or LA.

Nice-to-Have

Prior SPL, GM, or equivalent role at a human data company (Mercor, Surge, Scale, Turing, Micro1, Scalar AI Labs, AfterQuery, comparable)

Statistics, data science, or technical PM background. Helps with project scoping and quality assessment.

Consulting or IB background with clear interest in operations/founding-team work

Multilingual or strong cross-cultural network (helps with niche-language sourcing)
