About the RoleThis is a founding product engineering role at a seed-stage AI startup building computer vision and automation tools for the construction industry - specifically around blueprint analysis, material takeoffs, and cost estimation. You'll sit on a small, high-ownership product team, working directly with customers to shape and ship core features end-to-end from day one.
What You'll Do- Own features end-to-end, from customer discovery through design and into production.
- Interview customers weekly and translate messy domain knowledge into clear, useful product decisions.
- Build intuitive UIs that make complex blueprint and hardware data accessible to users coming from paper-based workflows.
- Contribute across the stack - React frontend, Python backend, and deployment infrastructure.
- Act as a 0-to-1 architect, taking ideas from concept to shipped product.
- Shape product direction and apply strong product taste to how things look, feel, and work for users.
- Handle the operational "schlep" that keeps an early-stage startup moving forward.
What We're Looking For- Demonstrated ability to build and ship full-stack software - open to all experience levels, including new graduates.
- Hands-on experience with React (frontend) and Python (backend and infrastructure).
- Track record of owning features end-to-end with direct customer engagement.
- Experience or strong aptitude for 0-to-1 product and architecture work.
- Strong product taste and a user-focused design sensibility.
- Excellent communication skills, empathy, and a growth mindset.
- Bonus: Previously built and shipped a product used or paid for by real customers (founder or early startup background).
- Bonus: Construction or blueprint domain experience, or a clear interest in the industry.
- Must be eligible to work in the US (no visa sponsorship available) and willing to work on-site in San Francisco.
