Full Job Description
About the Role

This is a founding engineering role at an early-stage healthtech SaaS company building the system of record for nursing excellence. The platform serves some of the country's largest health systems, helping nursing leaders run programs around professional governance, clinical ladder advancement, evidence-based practice, and designation achievement - work that today is still largely managed on spreadsheets and shared drives.

As a Founding Full Stack Engineer, you'll own architecture end-to-end across four integrated products, set engineering standards for the team to scale on, and ship features that have a direct, measurable impact on nurse retention and patient care. You'll work closely with an experienced founder-CEO and have a seat at the table from day one.

No visa sponsorship is available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
What You'll Do
  • Own architecture and ship production features across four integrated products
  • Design data models and services for complex multi-hospital, multi-unit organizational structures
  • Build AI workflows for exemplar writing, evidence organization, and document retrieval across large program datasets
  • Implement enterprise infrastructure: SSO/SAML, role-based access control (RBAC), audit logging, and HRIS integration
  • Join customer calls, hear problems firsthand, and turn feedback into shipped product within days
  • Establish engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and scalable architectural patterns for the growing team
What We're Looking For

Required:
  • 5+ years of experience building production SaaS products
  • Strong full-stack proficiency: TypeScript, React, and server-side JavaScript
  • Experience designing backend systems for multi-tenant or complex multi-entity organizational architectures
  • Hands-on experience implementing enterprise auth (SSO/SAML), RBAC, audit logging, and HRIS integrations
  • Experience building AI-powered workflows (document retrieval, generation, or evidence organization)
  • Proven ability to own both architecture and implementation in an early-stage environment
  • Clear communicator comfortable working with non-technical domain experts
  • Ability to empathize with end users and avoid over-engineering

Tech Stack: Next.js, React, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, Supabase, Vercel, AWS S3
Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $135,000 - $155,000 USD annually
  • Equity & stock options with clear career progression
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Learning & development stipend (tuition, certifications, conferences)
  • Comprehensive wellness program and mental health resources
  • Generous paid parental leave (including adoption and surrogacy)
  • Commuter benefits and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Location

This role is fully remote within the United States. The company is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.
