Full Job Description
What you'll be doing:

In this role, you'll be the founding owner of our organic content engine. You'll build the program that helps Basis show up wherever our buyers are learning: search engines, AI answer engines, blogs, resource hubs, campaign channels, media surfaces, and social distribution. You'll combine storytelling, research, and sales enablement to create high-leverage content such as case studies, ROI calculators, and product videos that fuel the sales funnel.

You'll be close to the keyboard from day one: writing, editing, publishing, optimizing, and distributing high-quality content yourself. You'll own the full content lifecycle from idea to brief to draft to publish to distribution to measurement. Your primary focus will be blogs, search/GEO content, resource hubs, guides, SEO landing pages, and other organic discovery surfaces. You'll also partner with PMM and marketing leadership on use-case pages, solution pages, campaign assets, media opportunities, and product-adjacent content where search, messaging, and distribution intersect.

As the function scales, you'll build the operating system for content production at Basis. That means creating repeatable workflows, editorial standards, topic maps, content briefs, repurposing motions, performance reporting, and AI-enabled processes that help us increase output without sacrificing quality. You'll work with our internal AI enablement teams to find ways to 10x content velocity, while keeping the work useful, accurate, and differentiated.

This is not a pure strategy role, a pure writing role, or a pure SEO role. We're looking for someone who can build and run an organic content program end to end: writing with taste, optimizing with rigor, distributing with creativity, measuring what works, and improving the system every week.

Location: NYC, Flatiron office. In-person team.

What you'll bring:
  • 5-8 years of experience in content marketing, organic growth, SEO, GEO, editorial strategy, or a related B2B marketing role, ideally in a high-growth software, AI, fintech, devtools, data, security, or technical product environment
  • Excellent long-form writing and editing skills, with the ability to make complex technical or workflow-heavy topics clear, credible, and useful for expert readers
  • A full-lifecycle content mindset: you can generate ideas, write briefs, draft content, edit, publish, package for distribution, measure performance, and iterate based on what you learn
  • Experience repurposing core content into campaign assets, newsletters, paid/social snippets, media bylines, executive/founder content inputs, and other channel-ready formats
  • Strong cross-functional instincts, especially partnering with PMM on messaging, demand gen on campaign priorities, web on site surfaces, and internal subject matter experts on technical accuracy
  • Narrative Clarity: Complex AI workflows are translated into simple, "must-have" value propositions that resonate across all personas, from CFOs to accounting partners
  • Systems orientation: you look for ways to build templates, workflows, AI-enabled processes, and operating rhythms that increase output and quality over time
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
  • Ability to work in office in Manhattan 5 days per week

  • Scalable Content System: A repeatable content operating rhythm is in place, including topic planning, briefs, editorial standards, refresh motions, performance reporting, and AI-enabled workflows
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: PMM, the CEO office, and internal subject matter experts have a clear content partner who turns company priorities into useful, discoverable, and distributed content
