Position Description:

CGI Federal is looking for a Forward Deployed Application Engineer to deliver client facing applications, integrations, data solutions, and automation that support complex mission and operational requirements.

This is a hands on development role requiring strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building applications and data driven solutions within modern enterprise technology environments. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across application development and data engineering, integrating data from multiple sources, and translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated software development experience and the ability to rapidly learn and develop within new enterprise platforms and development environments.

Experience developing within Palantir Foundry is highly desirable, and experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform is also a plus.

This position is located in Arlington, VA.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable applications, integrations, workflows, and data driven solutions.
. Translate complex business and mission requirements into functional technical solutions and applications.
. Develop user facing applications and operational workflows that enable users to interact with enterprise data and support decision making.
. Build and maintain data pipelines, transformations, integrations, and reusable data products using data from multiple systems and sources.
. Integrate structured and unstructured data and perform data cleansing, transformation, validation, enrichment, and quality checks.
. Develop front end and back end components to deliver end to end application solutions.
. Design, build, and consume REST APIs to integrate applications, data, and enterprise systems.
. Work directly with stakeholders, end users, analysts, and technical teams to understand requirements and iteratively develop solutions.
. Test, debug, troubleshoot, and optimize applications, pipelines, integrations, and data products.
. Participate in code reviews and utilize Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and other modern software development practices.
. Support solutions throughout the full development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, deployment, production support, and continuous enhancement.
. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including application logic, data flows, integrations, solution designs, and architecture.
. Rapidly learn and apply new development platforms, frameworks, and technologies based on evolving client and mission requirements.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
. 2-4 years of professional software development, application development, and/or data engineering experience building applications, integrations, APIs, data pipelines, or other data driven solutions.
. Strong programming proficiency in at least one modern development language, such as Python, Java, C#/.NET, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
. Experience developing both application functionality and data driven solutions within enterprise technology environments.
. Working knowledge of SQL and experience working with relational databases and other enterprise data sources.
. Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating applications or data across multiple systems.
. Experience with data transformation, integration, and/or pipeline development.
. Understanding of front end and back end application development concepts.
. Experience with Git/source control and modern software development practices.
. Demonstrated ability to design, build, test, debug, and maintain working software beyond solely configuring low code solutions.
. Strong analytical, debugging, and problem solving skills with attention to solution and data quality.
. Ability to work directly with clients and stakeholders to translate business and user needs into functional technical solutions.
. Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non technical audiences.
. Demonstrated ability and willingness to quickly learn and develop within new enterprise platforms, frameworks, and technologies.

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Hands on Palantir Foundry development experience is highly preferred, including experience with capabilities such as Ontology, Workshop, Pipeline Builder, Code Repositories, Functions, OSDK, Foundry APIs, and/or related development tools.
. Experience building Ontology driven applications, operational workflows, data pipelines, or reusable data products within Palantir Foundry is a strong plus.
. Experience developing solutions using Microsoft Power Platform is a plus, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and/or custom connectors and integrations.
. Experience extending enterprise or low code platforms through custom development, APIs, connectors, or other development frameworks.
. Experience with Python/PySpark and/or JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
. Experience developing full stack or operational applications that combine user facing interfaces, back end logic, and enterprise data.
. Experience with data engineering concepts, including ETL/ELT, data modeling, data pipelines, data transformation, data integration, and data quality.
. Experience working with large or complex datasets across multiple systems and formats.
. Familiarity with distributed processing and data platforms such as Spark or Databricks.
. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP and modern cloud based data architectures.
. Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automated testing.
. Familiarity with data governance concepts, including metadata, lineage, access controls, and data quality.
. Experience working in Agile development environments and collaborating across multidisciplinary technical and functional teams.
. Experience working in a federal government, consulting, or other complex client facing environment is a plus.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $71,700.00 $156,700.00.
