Forward Deployed ArchitectRole OverviewForward Deployed Architects design and guide the implementation of enterprise-grade AI systems deployed in customer environments.
In this role you will translate business requirements into scalable technical architectures and ensure solutions meet enterprise standards for reliability, security, and integration.
You will partner with Forward Deployed Strategists to shape solution strategy and with Forward Deployed Engineers to implement and deploy systems in production.
A critical part of this role is helping customer engineering and architecture teams develop the capability to design and operate AI systems themselves.
ResponsibilitiesDesign production architectures- Translate business and operational requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Design architectures spanning AI models, data pipelines, applications, and integrations
- Define patterns for reliability, security, governance, and observability
Guide implementation- Partner with engineers to ensure systems are implemented according to architecture
- Review system designs and code to ensure scalability and maintainability
- Resolve complex technical challenges during deployments
Lead architecture discovery and workshops- Work directly with customer engineering teams to understand existing environments
- Facilitate architecture sessions and technical planning workshops
- Define migration and deployment strategies
Enable internal architecture capability- Train internal architects and engineers on AI system architecture patterns
- Conduct architecture reviews and mentoring sessions with internal teams
- Document architecture patterns, standards, and best practices
- Support the development of internal architecture governance processes
Build reusable architecture patterns- Develop reference architectures and implementation guides
- Contribute to reusable frameworks and accelerators
- Inform platform and product teams with field feedback
Qualifications- 8+ years experience designing distributed systems or enterprise architectures
- Experience architecting systems on major cloud platforms
- Strong understanding of APIs, data systems, and application architectures
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly
