Responsibilities

  • Compile and submit daily and weekly progress reports to stakeholders
  • Liaise with client representatives to resolve technical issues and delivery schedules
  • Assist in developing construction estimates based on field insights
  • Manage inventory and allocation of site materials and tools for seamless execution
  • Implement cost-effective strategies to maximize resource utilization
  • Mentor construction workers and ensure proper task assignment
  • Lead safety toolbox meetings to foster awareness and compliance
  • Coordinate daily construction services for organized site operations

Full Job Description
The Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Foreman to join our team on a 14/14 rotation at Kearl Oil Sands. This is a fly in / fly out role with flights provided from either Edmonton or Calgary with flight allowances based in on the province located.

The ideal candidate will be a results-driven leader who can effectively coordinate teams, manage subcontractors and optimize project execution across multiple projects/ workfronts. This candidate will also be a direct contact with the client field construction team so client management skills are a necessity.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Directing field operations in strict accordance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental management plans while upholding OCL core values.
  • Executing the project scope to ensure all milestones are delivered on schedule and within the established budget.
  • Assigning specific daily tasks and responsibilities to craft personnel and subcontractors to optimize site productivity.
  • Compiling and submitting accurate daily and weekly progress reports for internal management and external stakeholders.
  • Liaising with client representatives to resolve technical issues and coordinate delivery schedules effectively.
  • Assisting in the development of construction estimates by providing field insights on labor, equipment, and material requirements.
  • Managing the inventory and allocation of site materials and tooling necessary for the seamless execution of works.
  • Implementing cost-effective field strategies to drive efficient execution and maximize resource utilization.
  • Providing mentorship and oversight to construction workers, ensuring proper task assignment and professional growth.
  • Leading site safety toolbox meetings to promote a culture of hazard awareness and compliance.
  • Coordinating daily construction services and site activities to maintain an organized and productive work environment.

Experience/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 + years Foreman experience leading medium to large scale industrial projects
  • Proven OIl & Gas facility experience is highly recommended
  • A journeyman level trades background is preferred or equivalent non-ticketed experience.
  • Must be able to read and understand construction drawings, ITPs and schedules.
  • Good computer skills required. e.g Bluebeam, Excel, Gmail, Google Drive, google calendar. We are a Google based company.
  • A demonstrated background in team leadership with a focus on worksite safety.
  • Strong construction knowledge to plan and forecast manpower, material and subcontractors.
  • Highly effective client relations, conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively with various stakeholders.
  • A natural leader and mentor that isn't afraid to get on the tools when needed to train and lead by example.
  • Leadership in Safety Excellence (LSE)
  • Other beneficial certificates (H2S Alive, First Aid, Confined Space)
  • Valid drivers license with a clean drivers abstract
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Must be willing to complete a criminal background check
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
