About the Role

Applied Materials is seeking a Forecast Operations Manager to help build and scale a world-class forecasting capability across a complex global supply chain. This role will serve as the bridge between forecasting systems and supplier execution, ensuring forecast signals are understood, adopted, and translated into actionable plans throughout the supply ecosystem.

The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Planning, Procurement, Supplier Management, Data & Analytics, and Business Unit teams to improve forecast effectiveness, drive supplier engagement, and enhance supply chain responsiveness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and improve forecast signal quality and performance tracking.
  • Partner with forecasting, planning, and analytics teams to continuously improve forecast accuracy, usability, and adoption.
  • Drive supplier engagement to ensure forecast signals are understood and effectively utilized.
  • Establish and manage feedback mechanisms with suppliers to identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities.
  • Analyze supplier execution performance and forecast consumption trends.
  • Ensure forecast signals are properly translated into supplier planning and MRP processes.
  • Consolidate supplier feedback, execution insights, and operational risks into actionable recommendations.
  • Develop dashboards, metrics, and executive-level reporting on forecast effectiveness.
  • Influence stakeholders across multiple functions and business units to drive forecast adoption and process improvements.
  • Support strategic supply planning initiatives and long-range capacity planning activities.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Business, Analytics, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, operations, forecasting, procurement, or related disciplines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience working with ERP, planning, forecasting, or supply chain technology platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong communication and executive presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Semiconductor, high-tech manufacturing, or complex industrial supply chain experience.
  • Experience working directly with suppliers and external partners.
  • Knowledge of demand planning, supply planning, forecasting methodologies, and MRP systems.
  • Experience with advanced analytics, AI/ML-enabled planning tools, or digital supply chain solutions.
  • Ability to translate data into business insights and operational actions.

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
