Title: FOIA Analyst
Schedule (FT/PT): Regular Full Time
Travel Required: No
Government Clearance: Must be Top Secret eligible.
POSITION PURPOSE:To support agency compliance and obligations under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Must ensure agency compliance under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
- Must review administrative appeals from denials of access to records made by USTR under the FOIA or the Privacy Act of 1974
- Track requests for legal compliance
- Process requests for records
- Process searches relevant to requests
- Respond to inquiries
- Assist with the defense of FOIA requests that enter litigation
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:- Bachelor's degree in business or engineering fields.
- J.D. Degree Required
- Must be an active member of at least one bar
- 2-5 years of related experience
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong experience in legal research
- Must have excellent writing skills
- Must have knowledge of FOIA
- Must have administrative and/or civil litigation experience
- Must have working knowledge of the FOIA
- Must be proficient in all MS Office Suites
Special Requirements: Must be Top Secret eligible.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience using Salesforce a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:This position is a sedentary role. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be sitting for long periods of time but will also be required to stand, walk, and communicate with others.
