As a CBRE FM Engineering Ops Manager, you will be embedded onsite at the client's U.S. headquarters, a 2 million-square-foot, multi-building campus that includes Class A office space, clean room environments, manufacturing operations, and research laboratories.
In this role, you will oversee and support the team responsible for delivering engineering, technical, and operational services that ensure the reliability, efficiency, and performance of critical building systems and infrastructure. You will serve as a key partner to client leadership, engineering teams, and operational stakeholders, helping to lead day-to-day facility operations, optimize maintenance programs, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across this highly sophisticated campus environment.
As part of CBRE's Engineering and Technical Services function, you will play a critical role in executing preventive maintenance strategies, enhancing operational performance, and ensuring the safe and compliant operation of diverse facility types. Working collaboratively across teams, you'll help deliver exceptional service, support key business objectives, and contribute to the success of a world-class headquarters campus.
What You'll Do: - Provide leadership and direct supervision to engineering and operations staff, including performance management, coaching, employee development, succession planning, and talent acquisition activities.
- Lead and coordinate daily team operations by establishing work schedules, assigning priorities, balancing workloads, and promoting cross-functional training to enhance team effectiveness and continuity.
- Set, monitor, and manage individual and team performance goals, project milestones, and departmental deadlines to ensure operational excellence and service delivery commitments are met.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, business partners, vendors, and key stakeholders, serving as a trusted advisor and escalation point for operational matters.
- Manage departmental or business unit financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, expense management, and profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
- Develop and implement strategic goals, initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts that support operational objectives and enhance service delivery.
- Partner with leadership to drive the execution of company programs, policies, and initiatives while ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client expectations.
- Evaluate operational processes, procedures, and workflows to identify opportunities for increased efficiency, improved performance, and risk mitigation.
- Ensure business operations are executed in accordance with established policies, procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Maintain oversight of regulatory documentation, compliance records, audits, and reporting requirements to support a safe and compliant operating environment.

- Apply advanced knowledge of engineering operations and facilities management while collaborating across functions to drive departmental and organizational success.

What You'll Need: - Bachelor's degree preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience in facilities management, engineering operations, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Strong technical expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, including the operation, maintenance, and reliability of critical building infrastructure.
- Demonstrated experience leading large teams in a complex operational environment, including hiring, employee development, performance management, and retention.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and navigate complex situations with sound judgment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, drive operational excellence, and lead continuous improvement initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and financial management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and performance metrics.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

California Residents: CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the FM Engineering Ops Manager position is $175,000 annually and the maximum salary for the FM Engineering Ops Manager position is $185,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE's applicable benefit program.
