This role is for a Fluids Test Manager within the Integration and Test team, supporting our mission to return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. The manager will lead their employees' professional development (e.g., performance evaluations, compensation and promotion management, and routine one-on-one development conversations) and coach them on career development. The successful candidate will work independently to develop solutions and perform as a lead test engineer executing test procedures, ensuring all steps and processes are followed, be accountable to the safety of the hardware and people involved in the test.

Travel:
  • Travel up to 25% during surge periods of integration and test to multiple offsite locations.


Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Lead the development and execution of fluids tests, building a high-performing team to deliver on program goals.
  • Lead and own the design of cryogenic fluid and high-pressure gas systems, including developing process architecture and layout.
  • Design and develop mechanical test fixtures and structural supports.
  • Conduct Process Hazard Analysis activities for fluid systems (HAZOP).
  • Manage suppliers, coordinating cost, schedule, and technical design requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive project plans including budget, schedule, and work breakdown structures.
  • Coordinate with customers to refine project scope and requirements.
  • Mentor newer engineers and perform peer reviews as appropriate based on experience level.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline
  • Experience managing technical teams and/or leading functional groups with responsibility for career management of employees
  • 5+ years of fluids, pneumatic, or cryogenic or similar experience
  • Demonstrated leadership in establishing a high-performing safety culture
  • Demonstrated expertise in fluid analysis and piping design, including process component selection and fluid system architecture.
  • In-depth knowledge of fluid system components (e.g., valves, regulators, and pumps for cryogenics, propellants, and other fluids).
  • Practical knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods for piping systems (pipe stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding, etc.).
  • Experience with facility instrumentation and Data Acquisition and Control System setup and operation
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
  • Experience working collaboratively in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
