Float Addiction Nurse Practitioner to join our growing team providing office-based addiction treatment services throughout Massachusetts. This full-time position supports multiple outpatient programs in
Woburn, Norton, Chelmsford, Gloucester, and Stoughton, delivering both
telehealth and in-person care to individuals seeking treatment for substance use disorders.
This role offers the opportunity to work with a dedicated multidisciplinary team while helping patients achieve lasting recovery through evidence-based Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
Position SummaryThe Float Addiction Nurse Practitioner will provide clinical coverage across five Massachusetts treatment programs and conduct virtual admissions for patients seeking MAT services. The position includes both telehealth and onsite responsibilities, including the administration of long-acting injectable medications and ongoing medication management for patients with opioid and alcohol use disorders.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience initiating and managing treatment for substance use disorders and a passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives through recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive assessments and in-person and telehealth admissions for Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Evaluate, diagnose, and develop individualized treatment plans for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD) and alcohol use disorder (AUD)
- Initiate and manage MAT, including buprenorphine and other evidence-based treatment modalities
- Provide ongoing medication management and follow-up care
- Administer long-acting injectable medications, including:
- Sublocade®
- Brixadi®
- Vivitrol®
- Collaborate closely with counseling, nursing, and administrative teams to coordinate patient care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation in the electronic health record
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and organizational clinical standards and regulatory requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and best practices in addiction medicine
Required Qualifications- Current Nurse Practitioner license in Massachusetts
- Current MSCR
- Current DEA registration with authority to prescribe controlled substances
- Experience initiating and managing treatment for opioid use disorder and alcohol use disorder
- Experience providing Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT)
- Strong understanding of evidence-based addiction treatment practices
- Ability to provide both telehealth and in-person clinical services
- Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills
- Willingness to travel between designated Massachusetts locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications- Prior experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or outpatient substance use treatment settings
- Experience administering long-acting injectable medications such as Sublocade, Brixadi, and Vivitrol
- Familiarity with ASAM Criteria and recovery-oriented models of care
Salary Range:Salary Range from $75 to $85 an hour.
The salary of the candidate selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, education, specialty, and training.
