JOB SUMMARYThe IoT team manages and supports the enterprise IoT ecosystem, including connected device platforms, integrations, security, and operational processes that enable reliable business technology services at Marriott's headquarters. This role designs, develops, enhances, and supports applications within the Marriott Associate App ecosystem and supporting technology stack. The role partners with vendors and managed Service Providers to deliver scalable, secure, and reliable technology solutions while contributing to the continuous improvement of application performance, stability, and user experience.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and ExperienceRequired
- 7 years minimum of experience designing, developing, implementing, and supporting enterprise applications in Linux, Windows, Mobile, COTS, and/or cloud-based environments
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/certifications
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES- Designs, develops, tests, and supports software solutions within the Marriott Associate App ecosystem
- Implements scalable cloud-based applications and services using Java and related technologies
- Develops and maintains REST and SOAP web services, ensuring security, reliability, and performance across enterprise platforms
- Provides operational support and technical guidance for mobile applications, web applications, and backend systems leveraging RDBMS and distributed environments
- Troubleshoots and resolves complex application, integration, and performance issues across multiple technology platforms
- Manages and optimizes web and mobile application ecosystems, focusing on system integration, performance monitoring, incident resolution, and continuous improvement
- Collaborates with vendors and Service Providers to support delivery, issue resolution, and operational excellence
- Participates in system design, code reviews, testing, deployment, and production support activities
- Researches and evaluates emerging technologies, development frameworks, and industry trends to drive innovation and continuous improvement
- Builds constructive relationships and effectively communicates technical concepts and recommendations to project teams, IT leadership, and non-technical stakeholders
- Leads complex technical problem-solving activities and contributes to cross-functional project delivery
- Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, fostering positive working relationships and maintaining a constructive, solution-oriented approach
