Full Job Description
Join the Market Operations Team in a role pivotal to our end-to-end performance. We are seeking a decisive, results-driven Fleet Readiness Manager to lead the charge in maximizing mission-capable uptime. This role demands an individual who thrives in high-stakes, fast-paced environments and excels at mobilizing cross-functional teams to keep our autonomous fleet at peak performance. You will leverage deep data analytics to monitor fleet health, preemptively identify failure trends, and implement proactive maintenance strategies. Your mission is to bridge the gap between technical hardware engineering and daily field operations, ensuring our service is always ready to meet market demand.
In this hybrid role, you will report to SFBA Market Lead
You will:
• Strategic Market Oversight: Drive fleet readiness across a portfolio of platforms within the market, ensuring the AV fleet meets stringent performance benchmarks and "ready-for-service" standards.
• Technical Leadership: Provide dotted-line leadership and technical oversight to a multi-site team of Diagnostic Technicians, setting daily priorities and ensuring high-quality execution of complex sensor and EV powertrain calibrations.
• Vendor Management & Workforce Readiness: Demonstrated ability to manage complex service-level agreements (SLAs) while ensuring third-party partners are appropriately staffed and technically trained to support multi-platform EV operations. Experience auditing vendor "Standard Work" and safety certifications is essential.
• EV Fleet Health Management: Implement proactive strategies to maintain the health of an electric ride-hail fleet, collaborating cross-functionally to resolve charging, battery, and hardware infrastructure gaps.
• Data-Driven Corrective Action: Monitor real-time fleet health metrics to identify systemic issues, implementing rapid-response corrective actions in partnership with internal engineering and external vendors.
• Operational Governance: Maintain strict adherence to established processes and provide high-level performance insights and executive-ready reporting to Global Fleet Leadership.
You have:
• 5+ Years of Specialized Experience: Proven track record in commercial operations or logistics with a primary focus on large-scale fleet readiness or AV/EV maintenance programs.
• EV Platform Scaling: Direct experience managing or scaling electric vehicle fleets, including an understanding of high-voltage systems, charging infrastructure, and thermal management.
• Vendor Management Excellence: Demonstrated ability to manage complex service-level agreements (SLAs), driving vendor performance through data-driven accountability and standard work audits.
• Execution & Efficiency: Proven success in driving daily operational tasks in a high-velocity environment, consistently meeting or exceeding fleet uptime and NRR (Non-Road Ready) targets.
• Project Leadership: Experience managing multiple technical projects simultaneously, ensuring high-quality outcomes and timely delivery within a rapidly evolving industry.
• Analytical Rigor: Strong ability to interpret complex datasets to identify operational gaps, mitigate risks, and make informed decisions that impact market-level economics.
We prefer:
• Strategic Decision-Making: Advanced skills in risk assessment and long-term prioritization, with the ability to build "safety valve" contingencies for fleet operations.
• Relationship & Alliance Building: Expertise in fostering cross-functional alignment between Ops, GPS (Global Operations & Property Services), and external hardware partners.
• Coaching & Team Development: A history of elevating technical teams through structured guidance, clear objective setting, and a "lead-by-example" mentorship style.
• Proactive Risk Mitigation: Expertise in identifying potential hardware or infrastructure challenges before they impact service, developing comprehensive remediation steps.
• Visionary Leadership: Ability to translate high-level organizational goals into actionable field strategies that inspire and motivate both internal and vendor teams.
• AV Industry Fluency: Deep understanding of the autonomous vehicle ecosystem, including the intersection of software deployment cycles and physical fleet maintenance.
Travel requirement:
• 10% of the time
